The invention resides in providing a tongue or tab 13 which is cut from the band and may be cut at the same operation and with the same die utilized for cutting the strip from which the band is made. This tongue or tab 13 has its inner end positioned adjacent the spot of glue or paste 12. The said glue or paste acts to stiffen or reinforce the band at this point.
