SIZE INDICATOR FOR GARMENT HANGERS.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, BERNARD Lnssnn, a subject of the King of Great Britain, and a resident of Cedarhurst, in the county of Nassau and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved Size Indicator for Garment Hangers, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.

This invention has relation to marking devices and has particular reference to a marking device for garment hangers.

The principal object of the present invention resides in the provision of an extremely simple, inexpensive means for application to a garment hanger, which means is de signed to bear indicia relative to the garment.

As a further object the invention contemplates a marking device which is designed for the purpose of ready association or disassociation with the suspension hook of the garment hanger whereby the marking devices may be'readily interchanged when desired. I

As a further object the invention contemplates a marking device for association with garment hangers which includes a plurality of indicia bearing faces whereby the indicia may be observed from any angle.

lVith the above recited and other objects in view, the invention resides in the novel construction set forth in the following specification, particularly pointed out in the appended claim and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, it being understood that the right is reserved to embodiments other than those actually illustrated herein to the full extent indicated by the general meaning of the terms in which the claim is expressed.

Referring to the drawings by characters of reference, 10 designates a common form of garment hanger which is provided with the usual suspension hook 11 whereby the hanger is supported from a suitable supporting element. A marking device constituting the invention consists of a substantially tubular body 12 having a central bore 13 and a plurality of indicia bearing faces 14: upon which the indicia 15 is printed, marked or otherwise inscribed.

In practice the device which is primarily intended for indicating the size of the garment on the hanger readily indicates to the sales person the size of the garment without the trouble or time incident to hunting for the size markers on the garment. By

therefore preventing undue soiling or wearing of the garments by the salespeople and customers. In view of the fact that the bore or opening 13 is larger than the sus pension hook 11 the markers may be readily applied to or removed from. the same and when applied will be supported by the garment hanger proper at the juncture of the suspension hook therewith. It is, of course, understood that any other indicia such as the price may be marked or inscribed on the faces 14 and if desired the-indicia may be superimposed on each face to be read irrespective of which end of the marker is applied to the hook first.

I claim:

A size indicator for garment hangers which includes a hanger body and a suspension hook, said size indicator comprising a tubular multifaced element having indicia indicative of. the size of the garment in scribed on the several faces thereof whereby the device is supported in a position above the garment on the hanger, and whereby the size indicating indicia is visible from any angle.
