To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, STEPHEN J. CLULEE, a citizen of the United States, residing at Attleboro, in the county of Bristol and State of Massachusetts, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Tags, of which the following is a specification.

My invention relates to that type of tags adapted for attachment to ophthalmic.

mountings, rings, and other small articles.

The essential objects of my invention are to afford in a small tag a maximum of space utilizable for printed matter; and to attain this end in a light, reliable, and inexpensive structure capable of facile attachment and detachment.

To the above end my inventionconsists in such. parts and combinations of parts as fall within the scope of the appended claims.

My tag is composed preferably of paper,

parchment, prepared linen, or similar flexible tag material, and comprises 1n a single piece enlarged tablet'or display tabs A and B connected by strap or neck C. The member 7 A has display faces a and w on its outer and inner faces, respectively; andthe member B has similar faces 6 and 72 analo gously disposed respectively. In the present instance the member A is rectangular and the member B is circular, and the former is of greater length than the latter, in order that, in the attached or engaged position of the tag, the members'A and B afford less opportunity for mutually obscuring each others inner faces, and facilitate manual separation if accidentally forced into contact with each other. Z) are adapted to receive written or printed matter. For example one face may contain the sellers trade mark; another, his guarantee; another, the number of the article; and

the fourth, the quality mark or other matter.

It is essential that all four faces'of the tag be available for display, and to insure this, the attaching member for forming and preserving the final attaching loop is applied at V the strap adj ae ent the member A or through perforations e. In bending the tag into attachable form the strap C is folded around the article to be identified and the prongs d are passed through the end of the strap adjacent the member B or through perforations f so located, and adapted, when the neck is folded, to register with the perforations 6, clamped down as shown in Figs. 5 and 6,

To increase the accessibility of the display faces the members A and B are caused to "diverge from each other bybending the strap C at poiiits, such as at 9, adjacent the members A and B; but suchbending is not essential, since the inner faces of the membersA and B carry no adhesive, hence the observer can obviously manually separate the members without effort.

3. As an article of manufacture, a mark ing tag comprising a strap tabs on both ends of the straps provided With four display faces, and a clamping member engaging the strap at points adjacent the tabs.
