IMPROVEMENT IN SEWING-MACHINE TABLES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 156,5 17, dated November 3, 1:574; application lfiled May 29, 1874.
To all whom it may concern:
Beit known that I, WILLIAM WHITWORTH, of Cleveland, in the county of Cuyahoga, Ohio, have invented a .new and Improved Sewing- Machine Table, of which the following is a specification The invention will first be fully described, and then pointed out in the claim. f
Figure l is partly a plan and partly ahorizoutal section of my improved table, and Fig. 2 is a longitudinal sectional elevation.

A represents the middle piece, of soft cheap wood; B, the side pieces, and C the end piece, of walnut or other fine and expensive wood; and c, the veneers. 1 The soft-wood portion B will, preferably, be arranged with the grain runningcrosswise of the table, and it will be tongued and grooved to the side and end pieces, and these pieces will be framed together at the ends in any approved way. The veneer will be glued on in the Ordinary way.
It will be seen that the table thus constructed will not shrink, nor swell, nor warp -by atmospheric influences, and will .have the appearance of a table of solid fine Wood, and will not be more expensive.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- A table consisting of body A and moldings B C, held together by an upper and lower veneer, D, as shown and described.
