J. LORBIECKI HAIR NET Filed'Feb. 28. 1925 g JOZJWMZQIZZkiZENVENTOR.
inertia JOHANNA LORBIEOKI, OF HATLEY, WISCONSIN.
HAIR NET.
Application filed February 28, 1925.
To all whom it may concern.
Be it known that T, JOIIANNA Lonisrnoni,
a citizen of the United States, residing at Hatley, in the county of Marathon and State of Visconsin, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Hair Nets, of which the following is a specification. r This invention relates to a hair net, and has for its object to provide, in a manner as hereinafter set forth, a net of such class for not only maintaining the hair in dressed condition, but further having means for materially enchancing the attractiveness of a coiffure when the. net is worn.
A further object of the invention is to provide, in a manner as hereinafter set forth, a net of such class provided throughout with spaced permanently attached ornamenting elements to materially enhance the attractiveness of a coiifure when the net is worn. Further objects of the invention are to provide, in a manner as hereinafter set forth, a hair net for the purpose referred to which is comparatively simple in its 0011* struction and arrangement, strong, durable, conveniently positioned when worn and comparatively inexpensive to manufacture.
lVith the foregoing and other objects in view, the invention consists of the novel coi'ist'r'uction, combination and arrangement of parts, as hereinafter more specifically described and illustratedin the accompanying drawings, wherein is shown an embodiment of the invention, but it is to be understood that changes, variations and modifications can be resorted to which come within the scope of the claims hereunto appended.
In the drawings wherein like reference characters denote corresponding parts throughout the several views Figure 1 illustrates, in side elevation, the application of a hair net, in accordance with this invention, to a coif'fure.
Figure 2 is a fragmentary view, in rear elevation, of a hair net in accordance with this invention.
Figure 3 is a fragmentary view in seclion, upon an enlarged scale, illustrating one of the ornamenting elements and the manner of securing it to the net body.
Referring to Figure l of the drawings, 1 indicates a coifture and 2 generally a hair net, in accordance with this invention, mounted on the coiffure to enhance the appearance thereof.
The net consists f a iesh-lilre bo y p Serial No. 12,378.
tion formed from oppositely extending inter-crossing connected sets of threads of substantial length, depending upon the size of the net. The threads of one set are indicated at 3 and those of the other at 4. The threads of each set ,are permanently arranged in spaced relation and the threads of one set at equi-distant points are connected to the threads of the other set at equi-distant points to provide the mesh. The manner of connecting the threads of one set to the threads of the other set is inclicated at 5, Figure 3. The connection is provided by utilizing portions of the threads of one set for tying them to the threads of an adjacent set in manner whereby the ties of the threads of one set will be alternately disposed with respect to the ties of the other set, and by this arrangement the mesh is permanently maintained. By reference to Figure 2, the ties of one set are indicated at 6 and the ties of the other set at 7.
Positioned against the outer side of the mesh-like body, at each tie 6 and 7, is an ornamenting element 8, of light material and comprising a tubular body of substantial length and preferably polygonal in cross section. The element 8 can be formed of higl'ily polished brass, steel, copper, bronze, or other suitable material for ornamental purposes, preferabl each element is formed of highly polished rass or steel.
Each of the elements 8 is secured permanently to the mesh-like body portion by a looped-shaped securing element formed of a flexible member 9, see Figure 8, which has a length thereof extending through the element 8 and its remaining portion positioned at opposed sides of and under a tie 6 or 7 and has its ends knotted together as at 10. The flexible members 9 maintain one side of each of said elements 8 snugly against a thread of each set of threads, see Figure 2.
The providing of the mesh-like body por* tion with the ornamenting elements 8 will materially enhance the attractiveness of a coiifure when the net is worn to maintain the hair in dressed condition.
What I claim is:
l. A. hair net comprising a mesh-like body portion formed of a pair of oppositely er:- tending sets of spaced threads connected together, the threads of one set at spaced intervals having portions of' their length surrounding and connected to the threads of the other set, the connected portions of the threads of one set being alternately disposed with respect to the connected portions of an adjacent set, hollow ornamenting elements disposed throughout said body portion and each having its lower face at each end terminal portion thereof seating directly upon a thread of each of said sets in proximity to a connected portion of the thread and further having its lower face centrally thereof seated directly upon said connected portion of such thread, and a loop-shaped securing member having a portion of the length thereof extending through each element and its remaining portion depending at each side of a connected portion of a thread and further extending under such connected portlon for connecting the element to said body portion.
2. A hair net comprising :a mesh-likebody portion formed of a pair of oppositely extending sets of spaced threads connected together, the threads of one set at spaced intervals having portions of their length surrounding and connected to the threads of the other set, the connected portions of the threads of one set being alternately disposed With respect to the connected portions of an adjacent set, polygonal-shaped hollow ornamenting elements disposed throughout said body portion and each having its lower face at each end terminal portion thereof seating directly upon a thread of each of said sets in proximity to a connected portion of the thread and further having its lower face centrally thereof seated directly upon said connected portion of such thread, and a flexible, loop-shaped securing member having a portion of the length thereof extending through each element and its remaining portion depending at each side of aconnected portion of a thread and further ext-ending under such connected portion for connecting the element to said body portion.
In testimony whereof, I affix my signature hereto.
