gripped in either hand to be manipulated without losing the effect of any of the area of the cloth.
The invention is illustrated in the draw- I in s, of which-- 4 igure 1 is an elevation of the cloth fitted to a hand.
Fig. 2 is'a plan view.
Fig. 3 is a section taken on the line 3-3 of Fig. 2.
The form of the invention shown in the drawings is a preferred form, although it is understood that modifications in the construction and arrangement of the parts and in the character of the materials used may be adopted without departing from the spirit of the invention.
The invention as illustrated in its preferred form in the drawings com rises preferably a sheet of flexible materia 1 suitable for cleaning purposes, and preferably some material such as chamois. It is of ample area to provide a generous amount of cleaning surface, and on one face there is attached thereto an auxiliary sheet of material of any suitable type which is sewed to the cleaning cloth 1 along three sides, 3, 4 and 5, and also along a curved line simulating in outline the outline of the fingers of a hand. This auxiliary piece of cloth thus sewed to the cleaning cloth 1 thus acting as a sort of pocket into which the hand may be placed to achieve the more efiicient and thorough manipulation of the cleaning cloth and also to protect the hand. It will be noted that the outline of, the hand shown particularly in Fi 2 has two thumbs 7 and 8, adapting this c 0th to be laced on either hand with equal facility. t will be noted, moreover, that the area of the cloth 1 extends generously in every direction beyond the outlines of the pocket member, and because the material is flexible, the cloth can be gathered inthe hand as desired, making its manipulation very efiicient and easy whereby the maximum area of the cloth can be made use of in cleaning.
What I clalm is A cleaning cloth which comprises a relative] large sheet of flexible cleaning materia an auxiliary sheet of stifi'er material disposed on one face thereof and sewed thereon along three sides to form a pocket for the hand, the area of the flexible cleaning cloth being much greater than the area of the pocket member, said auxiliary sheet being also sewed to the cleaning cloth along area within the edges thereof to simulate the outline of the hand, said sewed outline beinn provided. with two thumbs to facilitate the attachment of the cloth to either han JOHN RITZENTHALER.
