In combination with an ash receptacle having an opening in the top thereof, an open bottomed target boi; disposed over said opening, an ash conveyor discharge conduit entering the target box through one wall thereot', and adapted to discharge ashes toward and against the opposite wall thereof, a horizontal shelf disposed adjacent said last-mentioned wall and beneath the line in which ashes are discharged. by said conduit, and a baille slanting` downwardly from said Erst-mentioned wall to a point within the ash receptacle and beneath said shelf, the upper end of said baflie being located beneath the discharge conduit.
3. A target boX of the class described coniprising an open bottomed box, an ash conveyor discharge conduit entering said box through an opening in the upper portion of one of its end walls and adapted to discharge ashes toward and against the opposite end wall of the box, a horizontal shelf dis osed adjacent said last-mentioned end wa l and below said discharge conduit, and a baiile slanting downwardly from the iirst mentioned end wall to a point beneath said shelf, the upper portion of said baiiie being` located below said discharge conduit.
