YBe it known that I, MADELINE Hna SHEY, a citizen of theUnited States, residi ing at Los Angeles, in the county of Los Angeles and State of California, haveinvented anew and useful. Garment, of which the following is a specification. y
This invention relates to a garment and is more particularly directed to a combinationk skirt and trousers.
The object of the invention is to provide` a combination dress skirt and riding trousers or breeches, adapted to beV worn as adress skirt with the trouser sections positioned b`e tween the skirt and the wearer, `or to have its various lsections joinedtogether and ap-.
plied tothe wearer with the frontl portions of the skirt coperating with the trouser sections to 'form a complete pair of trousers, and the back skirt ysection maintaining its skirt form. `A further object is to provide a garment having the above characteristics, with at-V taching and oining means by which the garment may conveniently and rapidly be con` verted from one form to the other.
Various other objects and advantages wil-l be more fully apparent from thefollowing description of the accompanying drawings whichxform a Ypart, of the disclosure,y and which illustrate a preferred yform of einbodiment of the invention.' l, n

Fig. 7 is a frontelev'ation'showing the garment applied in trouser form. The garment has the belt 2 towhichv the various sections are secured, preferably by being gathered at the waist line and stitched thereto. The skirt of the garment comprises two opposed back and sideV sections 3 3 joined together at the rear of the garment to a point 4. The front vertical edges of the sections 3 are folded inwardly in plait formation (see Fig. `5) and are Joined at 5 5 t0 front panel sections 6 6. The snap sections 18 are engaged with the snap section 19 to join thecrotch edges of thetrouser leg sections 10-10, as shown in Fig. 6, and the two top snap members 9.are joined to connect the upper portions of the panel sections66 (see F ig. 7). Vith the garment thus applied, as shown in the right halfy of Fig. 7, the lower portions of the panel sections 6-6are wrapped around the limbs below the knees and-thebuttons 7 inserte'd into thek companionV button holes 8, the lower-ends of saidpanels thus coperating withY thetrouser leg sections to forni completetrouser legs, as shown in the left half of Fig. 7.

The abovev described garment provides a skirtfcomprising back and side sections and front panel sections,and inner trouser sections adapted to be joined to form trouser legs sections, which coperate with the panels to form a complete pair of trousers,

A garmentl combining a skirt having opposed'front panels and abelt, means connecting the panels, a trouser portion susp ended`V from the 'belt beneath the skirt and attached to the vertical free edges of the skirt panels, 4the trouser sections providing trouser legs of knee length andeach skirt panel adapted toform the front of Aeach trouser'leg with the lower portion thereof forming a trouser cuff encircling the limb of the wearer below the knee.
3. A garment combining a skirt having opposed front panels and side and back secone instance, and means attaching the lower portions of the front panels aroundthe limbs of the wearer in asecond instance', the panels forming the fronts of the trouser legs and trouser cuffs below the knees.
4. A garment comprising a convertible dress skirt and trousers, and combiningan outer skirt portion having opposed front panels and a belt, and an inner trouser portion suspended from the belt and attached to the vertical free edges of the'skirtpanels, the trouser portion forming trouserlegs of knee length andhaving free breech edges, coperating fastening means on the free edges of the skirt panels, cooperating fastenl ing means on the breech edges, andcoperatk ing fasteningmeans at the .lower portion of each skirt panel, whereby the free edgesof the panels may be attached to form a dress skirt, or, the free breechredges may be attached to'close the breech of the trouser portion and the lower portions of the panels may be secured around the limbs offthe wearer below the knee, with the panels form-V ing the fronts ofthe trouser legs.
5. A garment combining a skirtfportion having opposed front panels, and-a belt, a trouser section suspendedfrom the belt beneath the skirt portion and attached to the free vertical edges Aof the panels, and attaching means whereby the edges ofthepanels may be joined toform-a dress skirt iirone instance, and other attaching Vmeansisecuring the lower portions of the panels around the limbs of the wearer below the knees with .the panels coperating, in a second instance, to form a pair of trousers, the side. and back sections of Lthe skirt portion retaining their skirt form.
