Be it known that l, GnNNAno Dn BnnLrs, a *itizen of the United States, residing at Philadelphia, in the county of Philadelphia and State of Pennsylvania, have invented rertain new and useful Improvements in Shower-Bath Devices, of which the following is a specification.

One object oi my invention is to provide a shower bath device which can be quickly and easil ininuiiactured and attarhed to a bath tub.

Another object is to so construct a-shower bath device that it will be readily portable and can be quickly placed upon and re moved from a bath tub so that when it is not desired for use it can be stored in a closet or other suitable place and will take up comparatively little room.

A further object is to so construct my improved shower device that it can be placed upon a bath tub and will have a portion adapted to extend between the two handles oi a faucet and can be readily ronnected to the outlet nozzle of the faucet.

These objects, and other advantageous ends which will be described hereinafter, l attain in the following manner, reference being had to the accompanying drawings in which Figure 1 is a perspective view showing my improved shower device operatively connected to a bath tub and to the faucet of the same,

Referring to the drawings, 5 represents a bath tub having an upper curved flange 6 of awell known construction and a faucet 7, said faucet having two handles 8 and 9 spaced apart for operating valves to permit hot and cold water to pass outwardly through the common nozzle 10. This faucet is of a Well known construction and may be made in various shapes without interfering with the attachment of my invention My improved shower device includes a bracket arm 11 which has one end attached in any suitable manner to a plate 12. This plate 12 can be made of flexible sheet metal and is of the configuration clearly shown in Fig. 1 which includes a looped end portion Specification of Letters Patent.

13 which can be slid over the bath tub flange 6 by first swinging the bracket arm 11 into a substantially vertical position and then turning into a substantially horizontal position so that the flange will be projected into the looped end 13. The plate 12 is preferably extended a considerable distance below the bracket arm 11 and is adapted to extend between the hot and cold water portions of the faucet as clearly shown in Fig. 1. The outer end of the bracket arm 11 is provided with a substantially vertical hole 14 which extends entirely therethrough from top to bottom and this hole is made angular in cross section. As illustrated the hole 14 is made square in cross section, shown in F 3 and is adapted to receive a hollow stern 15 which is screwed on the end oi a pipe 16. The hollow stem 15 is alsoangular in cross section for a portion of its length so as to snugly fit within the hole ll in the bracket arm '11.

The upper end of the Stem 15 has projecting ears 17 adapted to rest on the upper edge of the bracket arm ll adjacent the hole 14; and thereby keep the hollow stem 15 from falling entirely through the hole i l. The lower end of the hollow stem 15 is reduced in cross sectional thickness and provides a corrugated nipple 18 to permit one end of a flexible hose 19 to be attached thereto; the other end of said hose being adapted to be connected to the common nozzle 10 of the faucet 7. The upper end of the pipe 16 is bent at an angle as shown at 20; said angle being substantially in alinement with the length. of the bracket arm 11 and projects over the tub 5 A perforated head 21 is secured to the end portion 22 of the pipe 16; said end portion being bent downwardly substantially parallel with the upright por tion 23 ot the pipe 16 so that the perforated head 21 which may be made of any usual sprinkling construction, depends so that person standing under the head 2 will receive a shower bath when either or both of the handles 9 and 9 are turned to permit water to pass through the hose 19, stem 18 and pipe 16.

To detach the parts from the tub and taucet, it is merely necessary to remove the hose l9 and the pipe 16 and stem 15 can be readily lifted tree of the bracket. After this. the bracket arm 11 can be removed by slightly raising the same so as to free the looped end 13 from the flange 6 of the tub 5.
