A further object is to provide an improved construction of swing of the lawn type which is strong and durable in use, which is relatively light in weight, andneat and attractive in appearance.

With these and other objects in view the invention consists in certain novel features of construction, and combinations and arrangements of parts as will; be more fully hereinafter described and pointed out in the claims. 7 7

A represents a supporting frame composed of four uprights 1 preferably of angle iron connected at their lower ends by base bars 2 extending both longitudinally and transversely of the frame and angle plates 3 are securely riveted in the corners of the frame providing a strong and rigid structure. Diagonal braces 4 are also provided which are crossed and connect the uprights 1 at the sides of the frame[ 7 Angle bars ,5 are secured to the upper ends of and form portions of the frame and these angle bars 5 constitute rails on which my improved rockers 6 are mounted. The rockers 6 have curved lower edges 7 which are supported on the horizontal base flanges of the rails 5 and the vertical flanges 8 of said rails prevent lateral movement of the rockers as will more fully hereinafter appear.

Spacing sleeves 13' are positioned on the rods 11 and interposed between the hangers 9 andthe rockers6, and nuts 14 are screwed onto the rods against the inner faces of the hangers to effectually clamp the parts in proper relative position. Below the rods 11 the hangers and rockers are connected by shorter bolts 15extending through the rockers and the hangers and secured by'nuts 16, and spacing sleeves 17 are provided on these bolts 15 to hold the hangers and rockers in proper relative positions.

The upper end of the frame A is strengthened by transversely positioned rods 18 extending through the angle plates 3 at the upper ends of the frame. These rods 18 are positioned parallel to-each other and provided with spacing sleeves 19;

It will be noted particularly by reference to Figs. 2 and 3, that the rods 18 with their spacing sleeves 19 are located inside or within the pair of hangers 9, but spaced from the hangers to allow the necessary rocking movement of the swing, but limit such movement and prevent possibility of the longitudinal displacement of therookers relative to their rails 5. d

It will be noted, particularly by reference to Fig. 1, that while provide four vertical of theswing requires but slight manual labor and a smooth rocking action is had as friction is reduced to a minimum.

Various slight changes might be made in the general form and arrangement of parts described without departing from the invention, and hence I do not limit myself to the precise details set forth, but consider myhangers 9, these hangers may be, formed by self atliberty to make such changes and alv V terations as fairly fall within the spirit and scope of the appended claims.
