Application filed June 14,
- To all whom it 11mg concern:
Be it known that I, L110 J GOLDBER- can, acitizen of the United States, and a I the line 9-9 of .away, borough of Queens,
l the parts in another resident of thecity of N ew York, Far Rockin the county of Queens and State of New York, have invented anew and Improved Garment, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description. 7
The object of the invention is to provide a new and improved garment more especially designed as an outer garment to worn by children and arranged to permlt of readily converting'the garment-into a bloomer dress, a bloomer romper or a dress. Another object is to permit of conveniently opening the garment, 'when'worn, for sanitary purposes, without requiring removal of any one of the component parts of the garment.
With these and other objects in. view, the'invention consists of certain novel features of construction, as hereinafter shown and described and then specifically pointed out in the claims. 2 A practical embodiment of'the invention is represented in the accompanying drawings forming a part of this specification, in which'similar'characters of reference indicate corresponding parts in all the views.
Figure'l is a perspective view of the garment shown worn as a bloomer dress;
Fig. 2 is a rear perspective view ofthe same;
Fig. 3 is a front perspective'view of the garment worn as a bloomer romper;
- F ig. 4 is a rear perspective view of the same;
Fig. 5 is anenlarged perspective view of a portion of the garment with parts open'position; V
Fig. 6 is a similar view of the same with position; Fig. 7 is anenlarged sectional plan view of the garment on the line 7-7 of Fig. 1; Fig. 8 is an enlarged cross section of the garment on the line 8-8 of Fig. 2;
Fig. 9'is a similar view of the same on Fi 2;" Fig. 10 is a simiF 1' view of the same on the line l010 of Fig. 1; and Fig. 11 is a similar view of the same on the line 1111 of Fig. 1.
The garment in its general construction consists of a waist 20,1; skirt 21 and a J; eommsaeaa AND v GARMENT. i

The bloomer 22 is provided with the usual bloomer legs and with a front waistband 51, and a back sanitary flap 52 having a back waistband 53. The front waistband 51 is provided with buttonholes 54 engaging .the buttons 40 at the front waistband portion 30. The waistband flap 52 is engaging member 31 of the waist 20, and the said waistband 53 is provided with narrower side buttonholes 56 engaging the side buttons 43, as previously mentioned. Thus by the arrangement described, the bloomer 22 is supported from the waist 20. i
The skirt 21 is provided at the rear with a placket 60 vided with tonholes 63 53 of the sanitary provided with back buttonholes 55 front buttonholes 62, side butandrear buttonholes 64. The

and the rear buttonholes 64 are adapted to engage the buttons 42-on the outer waistband member 32 of the waist 20 V (See Fig. 8). Hence lt-Wlllbe seen that the front portion of the waistband 61 overlies the portion 51 of the bloomer 22,
front waist and the rear portion of the said waistband 61 overlies the waistband portion 32 of the waist 20. From the foregoing it will be seen that the dress 21 is supported from the waist 20.
The sanitary flap 52 is detachably connected with the waist 20 wholly independent of the front portion of the bloomer or the skiit 21 and hence the said sanitary flap 52 can be opened or closed without disturbing the fastening devices used for connecting the front of the bloomer with the waist 20 or the fastening devices connecting the skirt 21 with thewaist, 20.
It will further be noticed that the dress 21 can be entirely disconnected from the waist 20 thus providing afigarment composed of a waist and bloomer, thereby providing a bloomer romper. It will, also be noticed that the bloomer can be detached from the waist with the skirt attached to the waist thus providing a dress, When the waist, the bloomer and the skirt are connect- 'ed with each other as described, a bloomer dress is provided.
