To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, WILLIAME. ROBERTS,

a citizen of the United States residing at Kenosha, in the county of lienosha and State of Wisconsin, have invented new and useful Improvements in Button-Links, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to fastenings for cuffs and collars, such as are or may be worn by either ladies or gentlemen, and the object thereof is to provide an improved device of this character which willoperate to maintain the approved shape of the cuff or collars, as the case may be, while insuring comfort to the wearer and at the same time afiordingunusual facilities for, ornamentation.

Hitherto it has been the practice to'attach the meeting ends of cufi's or collars to each other by means of various holding devices, as cuff-buttons, collar-buttons, and link buttons. The last named form "of holder has been particularly in vogue for cuffs in recent years, the chief characteristic thereof consisting in the employment of a pair of outwardly-exposed buttons showing over the button-holes, and a more or less concealed link connecting the buttons. This is done for a two-fold purpose. First, the extension prevents the collar or cuff from buckling, which it would be liable to do, where the buttons located at or near the ends of the link, as is customarily done.
