Referring in detail to the drawing, M des- Ignates a musical instrument upon which a sheet music holder or clamping device H is suitably mounted or secured in'anyap-V proved manner. It is to be understood that the present invention is not limited in' its application and utilityto a musical instrument of the type herein illustrated, but is likewise applicable to various other musical instruments, and may also be mounted and arranged upon a separate supporting frame suitably secured or strapped upon the chest or the arm of the musician. y

As herein shown, the improved lamp support includes a clamp consisting of two semicircular sections designated 5 and 6 respectively, which are hingedly connected to each other at one of their ends as at 7. At its other end each section of the clamp has a lug 8 suitably fixed to the outer face thereof. A clamping screw9 is lcarried by the lug 8'on the band section and is vadapted for threaded engagement in an opening in the lug 8 on the other band section 5. To the outer face of this latter 4band section and centrallythereof a rectangular sleeve 10 is suitably fixed, said sleeve being provided with an arm or extension 11 having a threaded bore to receive the set screw 12.

The lamp supporting standard 13 has one of its endslaterally extended to provide an angulararm 18 adapted fory engagement in the sleeve 10 on the sectional clamp. By adjusting the screw 12 into binding engagement4 upon this arm, theistandard ma be rigidly held in its assembled position against shifting'movement"relative to the attaching clamp. This standard through out its length is of rectangular form. 14 designatesan'electric ilashlamp which maybe of any ordinary or approved form and construction. Upon one side of the lamp casing a rectangular metal sleeve 15 is suitably fixed and is adapted to receive the standard 13. A boss or projection 16 is formed on the outer side wall of said sleeve and has a threaded bore to receive the clamping or set screw 17. It will thus be apparent that after the lamp has been vertically adjusted and properly positioned on the standard 13, the set screw 17 may be adjusted into binding engagement with the standard to securely hold the lamp against movement from its adjusted position.
