UNITED STATES ATENT OFFICE.
JOHN G. SGHLARBAUM, OF SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA.
IMPROVEMENT IN NEEDLE-SETTERS AND TWEEZERS FOR SEWING-MACHINES.
-To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JOHN G. SCHLARBAUM, of San J o's, in the county of Santa Clara, and State of California, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Compound Implements; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawing and to the letters of reference marked thereon.
My invention consists in a compound implement composed of a pair of tweezers and a needle-gauge for sewing-machines, as will be hereinafter more fully set forth.
In the annexed drawing, which forms a part of this specification, Figure lis a side view, and Fig. 2 an edge view of my compound implement. Fig. 3 is a transverse section of the same taken through the line ac at, Fig. 2.
A A represent the two-spring arms of a pair of tweezers fastened together at their up per ends by rivets, screws, or other suitable means. Before thus fastening the spring-arms A A together the needle-gauge B is placed between their upper ends, and the three pieces are then fastened together by the said rivets, screws, or other means.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
As an article of manufacture the withindescribed compound implement composed of a pair of tweezers and a needle-gauge, the needle-gauge being secured between the arms of the tweezers by the same rivets, screws, or other devices which connect said arms together, all substantially as herein set forth.
JNO. O. SOHLARBAUM.
