To all whom it may concern.
Be it known that I, Gnoner. H. HART, a citizen of the United States, residing at West Hartford, county of Hartford, State of Connecticut, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Feed-Through Switches, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
My invention relates to improvements in feed through switches and has for its object toprovide a feed through switch having two base members inclosing a suitable quick acting switch mechanism with a simple and effective means for holding said base members together.
The following is-a description of an embodiment of my invention, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, in

Fig. 4 shows a front view and a vertical section of the through base member or cover.
Referring more particularly to the drawings, 1 is a base member having plates 2-3 secured thereto and provided with binding posts 4-5. Secured to'this base member by a screw 6 is a U-shaped frame consisting of the arms 7, 8 and 9. Through openings in the arms 7 and 8 passes an actuating member 10 having springs 11 which act upon balls 12, which balls act upon the cam surfaces 13 of a switch arm 14. This switch arm carries contact engaging portions 15, which engage spring switch contacts 16 and 17 carried by the plates 2 and 3 res ectively. The contact members 15 are e ectrically connected together but insulated from one another so that when they are in engagement with the switch contacts 16 and 17 they complete the circuit through them. The lower end of the switch arm is provided with a projection 18 which plays in a slot in the member 9 so as to guide and position the switch arm 14 in its movements. The switch arm 14 is pivoted at 19 to the actuating member, there being a slot in the actuating member to permit the movement of the switch arm and its m 1 1%., 0 is a cover portion which fits over the switch mechanism carried by the portion 1, being alined in position by the dowel 21. The members 1 and 20 have grooves 22-22, which, when the cover is in position, form a passageway around the switch mechanism for one of the conductors of the flexible cord controlled by the feed-through switch. In order to hold the members 1 and 20 together, I provide the members 1 and 20 with extensions 2324, which, when the member 20 is placed upon member 1, form circular screw-threaded bosses as shown in Fig. 2. then provide screw-threaded parts 2525,'
which, when screwed upon these screwthreaded bosses, hold the parts 1 and 20 together. I also provide aprons or extensions 26 on each of the screw-threaded parts 25, these aprons extending toward one another and also provide a tubular portion 27 which, when the parts 25 are screwed into posih'on, is held between the opposing cases of the aprons 26, producing a casing as shown in Fig. 1. The tubular portion 27 is provided with notches which pass over the extensions of the actuating member 10, permitting the member 27 to be easily slipped into place. The switch arm is provided with extensions 28 which engage the u wardly eding arms 7 and 8 so that t e blades 15 are held out of engagement therewith and the arm is caused to oscillate as the member 10 is reciprocated.
As will be evident to those skilled in the art, my invention permits of various modifications without departing from thespirit thereof or the scope of the appended claims.
What I claim is:'
1. In a feed through switch, the combina- 'tion of a switch mechanism, two inclosing members surrounding and supporting said switch mechanism, said inclosing members having oppositely extending projections which co-act together to form areduced externally screw-threaded boss at each end of the structure, and nuts having screw-threads engaging the screw-threads upon said bosses.

In a feed through switch, the combination of a switch mechanism, two inclosing members surrounding and supporting said switch mechanism, said inclosing members having oppositely extending projections which co-act together to form a reduced externally screw-threaded boss at each end of the structure, nuts having screw-threads engaging the screw-threads upon said bosses, said nuts having aprons extending toward one another, and a tubular member held between the ends of said aprons.
4. In a feed through switch, the combination of a switchmechanism, two inclosing members surrounding and supporting said switch mechanism, said inclosing members having oppositely extending projections which co-act together to form a reduced externally screw-threaded boss at each end of the structure, and nuts having screw-threads engaging the screw-threads upon said bosses, said 'two inclosing members having registering grooves on their inner faces forming a by-pam for a conductor around said switch mechanism.
