To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, DANIEL M. WIN, a .citizenof the United States, residing at Greystone Park, in the county of Morris,

State of New Jersey, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Soap- Strainers; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains toimake and use the same.

This invention relates to a soap strainer.

An object of the invention resides in the provision of a device which may be attached to any faucet for the purpose of straining water through soap so as to provide a soapy water for dish washing and the like. A further object of the invention resides in so constructing the device that it may be readily attached to and detached from the faucet.

With these and other objects in view, such as will appear as the description progresses, my invention comprises the combination and arrangement of parts as set forth in and falling within the scope of the appended claim.

Referring to the drawing wherein like parts are indicated by like characters throughout the several views In the embodiment of my invention shown in the drawing, I have disclosed a device which consists of a soap container 1 made preferably of cylindrical formation and having a perforated bottom 2. Formed on the upper side of the container 1 is a threaded neck 3 with which is engaged a threaded cap 4 having a central opening therein and a clamping member 5 formed on the top thereof which has a pair of spaced arms with threaded apertures therein. Extending through the apertures in these arms is a set screw 6 having an operating handle 7 on the end thereof by means of which the arms of the clamping member may be drawn tightly together.

In using the device the cap 4 is detached from the soap container 1 and the soap placed in the said container, the device may then be secured to the faucet by passing the neck of the faucet through the clamp ing member 5 and tightening the set screw 6. When the faucet is turned on the water will flow through the opening in the cap 4 and through the soap in the container 1 and will then pass through the perforated bottom 2 of the container in a soapy condition.

When it is desiredto refill the container with soap it is not necessary to remove the entire device from the faucet, but only to unscrew the container from the cap at which time the container may be refilled with soap for subsequent use.

From the foregoing description it will be seen that I have provided a device which is adapted to contain soap through which water is strained so as to render the same soapy for use in dish washing or the like.

I have so constructed the device that it may be attached to any type of faucet and the soap container may be detached therefrom for refilling without necessitating the removal of the entire device from the faucet.

While I have illustrated and described a particular embodiment of my invention, I have merely done so for the sake of con.- venience and do not wish to be limited to that particular embodiment as it is obvious that numerous changes may be made within the details of constructionthereof without in any way departing from the spirit of the invention or exceeding the scope of the appended claim.
