To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, JOSEPH F. BRADY, a citizen of the United States, residing at Boise, in the county of Ada and State of Idaho, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Containers; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the inven tion, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.

This invention relates to containers and more particularly to a candy box for single delivery of the contents thereof.

An object of this invention is to provide an improved box from which the contents may be delivered individually.

A further object of this invention is the provision of a container having a plurality of openings therein and means for ejecting a single candy through one of said openmgs.

Further objects willl be apparent from the following specification, appended claims and drawings in which- Figure 1 is a perspective View of the complete box showing a portion broken away, Fig. 2 is a perspective view of the outer wall, Fig. 3 is a perspective view of the inner portion thereof and Fig. 4: is a perspective view of the insert to form a plurality of compartments in the box.

This invention provides for a candy box or the like and for the delivery of the contents thereof through openings formed in the outer wall of the box and includes a means for temporarily covering the contents of the box as well as for ejecting said contents singularly.

Referring to the drawings,there is shown an outer wall 10 having a plurality of openings 11 in the top thereof which are formed by the cross grills 12 and longitudinal grill 13. This outer wall receives a tray 14: which has a sticker 15 at one end thereof to securely hold tapes 16 and 17. The interior of the tray 14 is divided into a plurality of compartments by the longitudinal spacing members 18 to which are attached the cross members 19 as in the usual crate construction. After the members 18 and 19 are placed in the tray let, the tapes 16 are passed over the several cross members 19 and are depressed into the compartments formed thereby to receive a single confection in each of the compartments. The tapes 1'? are then passed over the several compartments to form covers for said compartments after which the tray 14- is slid in the housing 10 when one of theopenings in the top wall of said housing will register with each compartment.

To eject the confections from the box, the tape 16 is drawn from the end of the box to cause that portion thereof in the first compartment to straighten out and raise the confection through one of the openings 11 when said confection will force the end of the tape 17 through the opening as shown in Fig. l of the drawing. The extending portion of the tape 17 is removed as by tearing and by repeating the operation, the successive confection may be ejected.

Various modifications may be made within the scope of this invention without departing from the spirit thereof.

Having thus described my invention, I claim 1. In acontainer of the class described, a housing having a plurality of openings in one wall thereof, a tray slidable in said housing, said tray having a plurality of compartments therein, one for each of said openings, a tape connected at one end of said tray forming a lining for said compartments, a second tape connected to said tray forming a closure for said compartments under the openings in said housing and said first mentioned tape serving to eject the contents of the compartments and said second mentioned tape when said first mentioned tape is drawn taut.

In a container of the class described, a housing having a plurality of openings symmetrically formed in one wall thereof, a tray slidable in said housing, said tray having a plurality of compartments, one for each opening in the wall of the housing, a plurality of tapes secured to one end of said tray, one of said tapes passing continuously to the successive compartments in one row and being depressed into said compartments to form a lining for each compart ment, said tape being adapted to support the contents in each compartment, said tape extending beyond the end of the tray to afford a grip and a second tape overlying said first mentioned tape to form a closure under the row of openings in the housing for the compartments thereunder.

In a container of the class described, a housing having a plurality ofopenings symmetrically formed in one Wall thereof, a tray slidable in said housing, a spacing member inserted in said tray to form a plurality of compartments which coincide with the openings in the Wall 01": the housing, a plurality of tapes secured to one end of said tray, some of said tapes being continuous and depressed in the several compartments in a single row to form linings for said compartments and to receive the contents thereof, said tapes extending beyond the ends of said tray to form grips, others of said tapes passing over the several compartments in the tray to afford covers for said compartments under the openings in the Wall of the housing, said second mentioned tapes being ejected through the openings in the wall of the housing in succession With the contents of the compartments When said first mentioned tapes are drawn taut.
