The present invention relates to a portable and collapsible infants has for its object to provide a device of this character which embodies novel features of construction whereby it can be used interchangeably in connection with' two sets of more fully supporting members, one set of supporting members providing means for mounting the infants tub upon a standard sized adults tub, while the other set of support ing members'provides a stand forholding the infants tub in an elevated position above the floorl u Afurther object of the invention is to provide a collapsible infants bath tub which can be compactly folded when not in use,

which can be quickly set up in operativeposition, which can be shifted to any desired position upon the standard size adultsv tub when mounted thereon, and which is simple and inexpensive in-its construction. With these and other 0b10tS in view, the

invention consists in certain novel combinations and arrangements of the parts as will appear as the description pro coeds, the novel featuresv thereof being pointed out in the appended claims.

Specifically describing the present embodiment of the invention, the numeral 1 designates a main frame, and 2 a basin formed ofheavy canvas or other flexible waterproof material and applied to the .frame 1. The frame 1 may be formed of any suitable material such as wood, and may be of any desired shape or configuration, although in the present instance it is shown'as' rectangular in form. of the waterproof fabric of which the basin 2 is formed may be folded around the sides of the frame 1 and secured thereto in any Owing to the flexible nature of the fabric from which the basin is formed it will be obvious that the basin or tub can be readily collapsed so as to occu'pybut a small amount of space when not in use. j

Applied to each end of the main frame .1 is a metal strip 3 which has opposite sides thereof returned to proiideth-e two longiand' parallel guide sleeves l, the edges of the returned sides overlapping each other at the middle of the strip'3 and being securedthereto by suitable fastening members 5. As shown upon the drawing these fastening members 5 are The edges When it is desired to mount the infants bath tub upon a standard sized adult' tub such as isindicated by the numeral '6, a set of arms 7 is employed in connection with the double guide sleeve 4'1 at. each end of the tub. Two of these supporting arms'7 are used at each end of the infants tub, the said arms being slidably received within the re spective guide tubes 4 and projecting laterally from opposite sides of the tub. The projecting ends of the arms are curved or slightly hooked as indicated at 7 so as to fitover and engage the sides of the adults bath tub 6. Some form of protective member such as the rubber tubing 8 may be applied to the curved or hooked ends 7 of the supporting arms 7 to prevent the same from marring or injuring the finish upon the sides of the adults bath tub 6. The supporting arms 7 are adapted to telescope'freely in and out within'the .tubular guide sleeves 4 so that they can be caused to project any desired distance .from the infants bath tub and forth upon the supporting arm 7 so as and be properly adjusted to fit any size of adults bath tub. It will also be obvious thatthe main frame 1 can be moved back ient or when it may for any reason be de-- sirable to support the infants bathtub independently ofthe adults bath tub, a supporting stand such as shown by Fig. 5 can be substituted for the supporting arms 7 previously described." This stand is composed of four supporting bars 9, two of Which are arranged at each side of the tub.

The upper ends of the supporting bars 9 are bent laterally or hooked at 9* so as to be readily inserted Within the end of the tubu lar' guide sleeves 4. The pair of supporting bars 9 at each side ofthe tub cross each other and are pivotally connected at their point of intersection. It will also be observed that the two sets of crossed and pivotally connected supporting bars 9 at opposite sides of the tub are connected by a cross bar or tie rod 10 so as to hold the same together and prevent spreading thereof. The extremities of the bar 10 may pass through the intersecting members 9 and provide the pivotal connection between the same, and Imam may be applied to the threaded ends of the member 10 to hold the supporting bars 9'in position thereon. When these nuts 11 areiremoved the supporting bars 9 and tie rod 1 can be disconnected from each other so as to )e packed away in a'very smallamount ofspace. The supporting bars 9 and slides or arms 7 are adapted to be used interchangeably with each other, according. to whether it is desired to mount the infants bath tub upon an independent stand or to mount it upon a standard sized ,adults tub. Either set of supporting members can be very readily applied to the guide sleeves 4 and the infants bath tub 'quickly set up in operative position. Furthermore, when the infants bath tub is not in use, the flexible fabric basin portion thereof can be collapsed brought together at an intermediate point with longitudinal guide openings extending along the edges thereof. Under some conditions it may be preferable to construct the double guide sleeve in this manner, instead of using a flat plate andreturning the edges thereof, as previously described. 1 Having thus described the invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure' by Letters Patent, is

A portable and collapsible infants bath tub including a main frame, a flexible water proof basin applied thereto, 'sheet metal plates applied to opposite ends of the frame and supporting members adapted to detachand having opposite sides thereof returned to provide double tubular guide sleeves, and supporting members having end portions adapted to be loosely and detachably received within the said tubular guide sleeves.

A portable and collapsible infants bath tub including a main frame, a flexible waterproof basin applied thereto, metal plates applied to opposite ends of the main frame and each formed with double tubular guide. sleeves, supporting arms loosely received within the tubular guide sleeves so as to slide freely therein and projecting laterally .upon opposite sides of the tub, the projecting ends ofthe supporting arms terminating in hook members adapted to be properly adjusted to engage the sides of an adults bath tub.

4. A portable and collapsible infants bath tub including a main frame, a flexible waterproof basin applied to the main frame and having the edges thereof folded around the sides of the frame, metal plates applied to.
