Application led June 18, 1912. Serial No. 704,277.
To all whom t may concern Be it known that/I, WILLIAM M. BUCKLEY, a subject of the King of Great Britain, and resident of .the city of Winnipeg, in the Province of Manitoba, in the Dominion of Canada, have mvented certain new and useful Improvements in Garments, of which the following is the specification. j
My invention relates to improvements in 1d garments and more particularly to sweaters,
sweater coats or the like and Ithe object of the invention is to devise a sweater or the like in which the collar can be turned down to form a collar' of the-sailor type or which Y can. be buttonedvup close to the throat when desired.

It will be seen that a collar constructed according to my invention can take up three separate and distinct positions; rstly, it can be turned down into the ordinary sailor collar, and secondly, it can be closed up at the throat to protect the same by buttoning the buttons 6 into the button holes 5, and thirdly, it' can be turned into a hood when desired by turning up the collar and jbuttoning the buttons 4 into the button holes 3 and buttoning the buttons 6 into the button holes 5.
.Although the article is shown with buttons and button holes it is to be understood that dome fasteners or other suitable fasteners may be used in place thereof. .l
What I claim as my invention is:
In a garment, an adjustable sailor collar having a plurality of button holes extending half across the same and' adjacent to the back edge thereof, a plurality of buttons on the under side 'of the opposite half of the collar and adjacent to the back edge thereof, a plurality of button holes in one 'of the front edges of the collar adjacent to the Vneck band, a plurality of buttons .on' the other front edge f the collar adjacent to the neck band and on the under side thereof, the said collar being adapted to be closed up to the' throat when the last said buttons and button-holes are in engagement andbeing def signed to form a h ood when the first-said button and button-holes are substantially as described.
