To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, GEORGE T. CoL'rER, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of the city of New York, borough of Manhattan, in the county and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved Overlap Shower-Ring, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.

This invention relates to improvements in shower rings, and has for an object to provide an improved structure wherein the curtain may be held against opening.

Another object in view is to provide a ring for a shower bath which has an overlapped portion for allowing the curtain to be overlapped at the point of opening, whereby none of the water can escape.

In carrying out the objects of the invention a shower ring is provided which has an overlapped portion. The overlapped portion of the ring may be connected or separated as desired, but must overlap to such an extent as to allow a curtain to present a substantial overlap for entirely closing the opening under all circumstances. The ring may be supported by any suitable standard, and may have a spraying device associated therewith of any desired or preferred form. Also, the entire outfit may be arranged above a bath tub or other suitable place.

Referring to the accompanying drawings by numeral, 1 indicates a suitable standard of any desired kind through which water is passed to the distributing spraying device 2. A bracket 3 is provided on standard 1 to which is rigidly secured ring 4. The ring 4 may be or" any desired shape in cross section, and also of any desired size. At any desired point around the ring, preferably opposite to the bracket 9 are arranged overlapping sections 5 and 6 which have a connecting bar 7. Raised portions 8 and 9 are also provided near the ends of the sections 5 and 6 so that the end rings 10 and 11 of curtain 12 may be passed over these raised portions and thereby locked in a certain sense against any backward motion. This presents means which will hold the edges of curtain 1.2 in an overlapped condition as shown in Fig. 1. When the spray 2 is turned on the water cannot escape out of the curtain 12 except at the bottom. This construction is espe cially desirable where the shower device is arranged above a bath tub, whereby the water from the spraying device 2 will pass downwardly within curtain 12 and from thence into the tub, thus avoiding wetting the floor.

In Fig. 3 a slightly modified form of the invention is shown in which the ring 4 is provided with overlapped sections 5 and 6. These sections are not connected as the structure shown in Fig. 2. Aside from this difference the structure is identical with that shown in Fig. 2.

In Fig. 4 will be seen a further slightly modified form of the invention in which the connecting bar 7 is raised or bowed upwardly as more clearly shown in Fig. 5.

What I claim is- 1. A shower ring comprising, a body, a pair of spaced overlapping sections, and means for connecting said sections together.

2. A shower ring comprising, a body, and spaced overlapping sections arranged at a predetermined point on said body.

3. A shower ring comprising, a body for supporting the curtain, spaced overlapping sections arranged on said body, and a raised portion arranged near the end of each of said overlapping sections whereby the curtain arranged on said body may overlap and be locked in an overlapped position.
