UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
HOMER, RAY BILL, OF IOWA CITY, IOWA.
DEVICE FOR HOLDING LABELS, DRAWINGS, AND PICTURES.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HOMER RAY DILL, a citizen of the United States, residing at Iowa City, in the county of Johnson and State of Iowa, have invented a new and useful Device for Holding Labels, Drawings, and Pictures, of which the following 1s a specification.
Hy invention relates to a device for holding labels, drawings, descriptive cards and pictures and the objects are, first, to hold labels, drawings, cards or pictures, such as are used in museums, stores and show-windows, at an angle so that they may be plainly seen and read; second, to prevent them from curling; and third to protect them from the dust and dirt. The holder is useful in the drafting-room and shops for holding and protecting a drawing while it is in use. I attain these objects by the device illustrated in the accompanying drawing, in which Figure 1 represents a perspective view of this improved device in position ready to receive a card and its protective covering. Fig. 2 is a transverse section thereof with a card in operative position therein.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Application filed May 12, 1913.
Patented May 19, 1914.
Serial No. 767,127.
In the embodiment illustrated E- represents the frame of the holder supported by the foot B: these two parts being preferably made of one piece of metal. A metal plate -D is held in place by the turned edge, indicated at the break -C, and the catch -A. When a label is to be placed in the holder, the plate D is removed: a piece of oelluloid, or other transparent material, the size of the plate, is placed in the frame, the label is now put in place and the plate D is inserted, all being held in place by C and A. To relieve the label press down 011 the catch I claim:
A card support comprising a frame the upper member of which is substantially inverted U-shaped in cross section, a plate ex tending rearwardly from the lower frame member, and a forwardly extending spring tongue struck out of said plate adjacent said bottom frame member.
HOMER RAY DILL.
