vices, of which the following is a specification;

My invention relates to improvements-in plat-ting devices for draftsmen.

The object of my invention is to produc a universal platting'device in which simplicity of construction, efliciency and a m1n1- mum of cost is attained; I accomplish this object by means of a device hereinafter more specifically described, reference being had to the accompanying drawings forming part hereof, in which- Figure 1- is a plan view of my improved device applied to a drawing board. Fig. 2 is an inverted plan View of the same detached from the board. Figs. 3 and 4 are details of construction.

Referring to said drawings, 1 is a-draftsmans board of the usual construction, the one side thereof having applied thereto, 'longitudinally thereof, the guide rod 2, to which is slidably connected a ruler or straight edge 3, which is adapted to swing upon the pin 4 secured in the block 5, which is slidably mounted upon said guide rod.

6 is a bracket towhich is pivotally connected the segmental protractor 7 and the graduated scale ruler 8, the said bracket being slidably mounted on the straight edge 3 and adapted .to be secured thereto by the thumb screw 9, and having one end thereof in thevernier 10. The graduated ruler is removably secured in its frame 11 by means of the fastening device which comprises the hook l2 and slot block 13, in which pins on the ruler engage, being held in the slot by the hook as shown in .Fig. 3. The straight edge is capable of being swung to any desired angle by means ofthe worm 14, which meshes with the gear 15 secured to the pin 4:. One -of the novel features of my device is that the fprotractor is provided with a degree scale rom zero at the center thereof to 90 on either end in either direction.

Having described my invention, what I claim and desire is to secure Letters Patent:

In a draftsmans platting device, the 001m bination of a straight edge, a slide mounted upon the straight edge and projecting upon opposite sides thereof, a. protra'ctor pivotally mounted upon one of the projecting ends of the slide, a Vernier arranged upon the opposite project-ing end of the slide and disposed in cooperative relation to the protractor, and a ruler carried by and projecting from the protractor.
