Be it known that I, FRANK Rnrraimnn, a citizen of the United States, residing at Bowden, in the county of Tells and State of North Dakota, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Detachable Blinds for Bridles; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art tol which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters and figures of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specilication.

This invention relates to new and useful improvements in detachable blinds for bridles and comprises a simple and eflicient device of this nature having various details of construction and combinations and arrangements of parts which will be hereinafter fully described, shown in the accompanying drawings and then specifically defined in the appended claim.

I illustrate my invention in the` accompanying dra-wings, in which Figure l is an elevation showing the application of my blind to a bridle. Fig. 2 is a cross sectional view on line 2-2 of Fig. l, Fig. 3 is a detail view of the blind detached,

Reference now being had to the details of the drawings by lette-r, A designates the side straps of a bridle which are folded upon themselves as shown and held together by means of the loops B.

C designates the blind, to the inner edge of which is fastened a plate E, T-shaped in cross section and extending the entire length of the inner end of the blind and adapted to engage the edges of the straps which are folded upon themselves. `With the flanges extending beyond the opposite sides of the Specification of letters Patent.

blind and adapted, when adjusted in place, to engage corresponding edges of the straps of the bridle in the manner shown in the sectional View of the drawings, said loops are adapted to hold the straps in engagement with the opposite sides of the blind and the shank portion of the plate. Angled plates F, F are fastened to the opposite sidesI of the blind a short distance from the flanged edge. of the platevE` and the flanges of the plates F are preferably spaced apart a distance from the flanges B, equa-l to the width of the straps of the bridle, so that, when the parts are adjusted in position, the straps will engage between the flanges of the two plates and the outer face of the straps will be flush with the edges of the flanged plate. The blinds with the flanged plates thereon being adjusted to the straps, the latter will be held in engagement therewith by the loops at t-he ends thereof, as will be readily understood, making it necessary just to loosen one of the straps of the bridle in order to remove the blind when desired.

Vv'hat I claim to be new is A blind for bridles comprising, in combination with the bridle having straps which are folded upon themselves, loops passing about said straps, one of the latter being movable through the loops, a double flanged plate fastened to the inner edge of the blind and extending its entire length, and angled plates fastened upon the opposite sides of the blind and adapted to engage the edges of the straps opposite those engaged by the first referred to plate, as set forth.
