To all whom it may concern;

Be it known that I, BERNARD CAI-IN, a subject of the Empire of Russia, residing at San Diego, in the county of San Diego,

State of California, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Folding Garment-Forms; and I dodeclare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying'drawings, and to the characters of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this application.

This invention relates to improvements in garment forms used for display purposes, the object of the invention being to produce a form composed of several interlocking parts when in use, which parts can be disassociated, and placed into a compact and convenient bundle for transportation or storage purposes.

A further object of the invention is to produce a simple and inexpensive device, and yet one which will be exceedingly effective for the purposes for which it is designed.

These objects I accomplish by means of such structure and relative arrangement of parts as will fully appear by a perusal of the following specification and claims.

In the drawings similar characters of reference indicate corresponding parts in the several views.

Figure 1' is a front elevation of the com-- plete form. Fig. 2 is a sectional view taken on a line XX of Fig. 1. Fig. 3 is a rear view of the front half of the bust form. Fig. 4C is a similar view of the back half of the bust form. Fig. 5 is a perspective view of a portion of the hip form. Fig. 6 is a similar view of a further port-ion of the hip form. Fig. 7 is a sectional view taken on a line YY of Fig. 6. Fig. 8 is a sectional view of a supporting collar. Fig. 9 is a perspective view of a supporting bar and rod. Fig. 10 is a top plan view of a chain supporting ring.

Referring now more particularly to the characters of reference on the drawings, I first provide a bust form composed of a forward half 1 and a rear half 2, the front half being so formed asto be able to be inserted into the rear half when the form isnot in use, but is packed for storage or transportation. When set in position pins 3 on the member 1 fit 'into'recessed lugs 4 on the member 2.

I provide a hip form composed of an upper portion 5 and a lower portion 6, such upper portion 5 having hooks 7 adapted to engage eyes 8 on the member 6 which hold these two portions 5 and 6 together when in position for use. When not in position for use and packed for storage or transportation the member 5 can be fitted into the member 6 as will be seen. On the upper end of the member 5 are eyes 9, while 10 are hooks on the lower ends of the members 1 and 2 which fit into said eyes 9 which join the members 1 and 2 to said member 5.

When the formis set in position a cross supporting bar 11 has a slot 12 at one end which fits over a hook 13 on the lower end of the member 6 at one side and has a slot 13 at its other end which fits over a pin 14 on the lower end of the member 6 which pin is slidably disposed in a slot 15 in a member 16, whereby the same can be deposited in any desired position in the slot 13 and ,be

held therein by means of a wing nut 17 on the pin 14. On this bar 11 is an upwardly projecting rod 17 which projects through a cap 18 fitted over the tops of the members 1 and 2 and said rod 17 has on its outer end a wing nut 19 which is then screwed up against a cap 18 which holds all of the heretofore described parts securely together, as will readily appear.

The numeral 20 designates supporting legs carrying a vertical rod 21 adjustable therein, as shown, on the upper end of which rod 21 is a collar 22 having a flange 23. Chains 26 are fastened to the lower edge of the member 6 and hold suspended on their lower ends a ring 27 having a cross bar 28 provided with airing 29, which ring fits normally over the rod 21 and can be held in any fixed position by a collar 3O on the rod 21 and having a set screw 31 to fix it in any desired position and thus when the form 'is in position for use the ring 27 carrying the chains 26. can bepulleddown" as tightly as possible and then fixed in such position by the collar 30 and set screw 31.

As will readily appear from the descrip tion herein set forth when set up my improved folding form is perfect in every degree and solid and compact for the purpose for which it is designed, but when not in 1. A device of the character described comprising a pedestal carrying a supporting rod, a bust and hip form, a cross bar on the under side of said hip form, a collar on said cross bar, a sleeve adjustable on said supporting rod and having a flange, such collar on said cross bar being adapted to fit over said sleeve and permit said cross bar to rest on said flange, as described.

A device of the character described comprising a form composed of two members which, when joined will form a bust, means for guiding said two members into position, a cap adapted to fit over the upper ends of said two members, a rod fixed stationary with respect to said two members and projecting through said cap and a wing nut on the outer'end of said rod bearing against said cap, as described.

A device of the character described comprising a bust form, a hip form composed of two members, eyes on one of said two members, blocks on the other one of said two members, such blocks being adapted to project into said eyes, eyes on the upper one of said two members, hooks on said bust form adapted to project into said eyes, and a rod fixed stationary to the lower one of said two members and ada ted to project through said bust form and e fastened in such position, as described.

A device of the character described comprising a hip and bust form suitably joined, a hook on one side of the lower end of said bust form, a slotted member on the other side of the lower end of said bust form, a bolt projecting through said slotted member, a wing nut on said bolt, across bar having a slot at one end adapted to fit over said hook and a fork at the other end adapted to fit over said bolt and a supportingmeans engaging said cross bar, as described.
