To all whom, it may concern Be it known that I, MYRON Moxnr, a
citizen of the United States, residing at Milford, in the county of Worcester" and State ofMassachusetts,have invented anew and useful Suspensi n for Cables, of which the followingis a specification- My invention relates to an improved way of suspending telephone or other cables, from a supporting cable commonly known The objects of my invention areto provide an easy we to put up and take down iii telephone or ot er cables of this nature, and to have same permanent and substantial, also to be able to use material for construction which has been in use, and to provide means in telephone line construction where an increase of service is expected by placin on guard wire or supporting cable a 'dou le ring construction, one ring of which (preferably the lower one) is used to carry the individual Wires as the service increases, and when it is decided to displace the individual wires b putting in a cable, it can be done by drawing the cable through the upper ring thus dispensing with t e present method of puttin up another guard wire to support cable, an then taking down the old line of individual wires. I attain these objects by the device illustrated in the accompanying drawings in which Figure 1 is a vertical view of the device showing rin loop for engaging cable, and catch for ho ding it closed. Fi 2 is a vertical view of device showing ow loop is made wider than lower part, thus making it more rigid while cable is being drawn through. Fig. 3 is a perspective view of device open with section of cable in loop showing manner of its application, also shows how catch M, is made by punching and turning in at right angles. In a suspension for cables of the character described, comprisinga single piece with one semicircular cable engaging loop with inner surface crowned intermediate its center and free ends on each half, lips containing locking devices at free ends, said 1 locking device consisting of a lug perpendicular to inner surface of said lips on one half, said lug containing notch, said notch engaging slot in lip of corresponding component part at free end, a laterally formed supporting wire engaging loop connecting members containing cable engaging loops and lips containing locking devices at free ends, and means for increasing the flexibility of said supporting wire engaging loop by a lateri ally centrally located slot in supporting wire loop, substantially as described.
