The Schedule referred to in than Letters Patent and making part of the lame To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, HERMANN Tens, of Ann Arbox, in the county of Washtenaw and State of Michigan, have invented a new and improved Polish for cleaning Plate'and Glass; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the same.

This invention consists of an improved composition of matter for cleaning and polishing metal and glasswares.

The ingredients used are named in the following qnanties:

Eater, one-half ounce; alcohol, one-half ounce; oxide of iron, one dram; pure nitre, one dram; alum, (Team; common salt, one dram; aqua ammonia, one-fourth diam.

The composition is prepared by merely mixing these elements together. It is not claimed that there is any chemical union. It may be applied to the cleaning and polishing of all sorts oi' metallic and glasswares.

I confidently assert that it cleans more readily,

cheaply, and effectually, and produces a more brilliant lustre than any polish now in use, and that it does not tarnish or otherwise injure auy'articlc to which it may be applied.

Having thus described my invention,

What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

The cleaning and polishing compound above described, composed of the ingredients specified.
