1 designates the body of thegarment having sleeves 2, shoulder portions 2 and neck opening 3. The body is made of a single piece of material having the front portion formed with overlapping flaps 4 which are sewed along the lines 5 and 6 forming a tubular body portion open at the top and bottom. The sleeves 2 are divided downwardly, part of their length, from the shoulder, as shown at 7, one edge oithe sleeve along the opening 7 being provided with buttons 8 and the other edge provided with button holes or eyes 9. The body 1 is out longitudinally in four places forming slits or openings 10, 11, 12 and 13 and. is provided with a band 14: sewed to the front of the body 1 along the line 15. The band 14 is preferably made of warm material,

such as wobl 'or flannel and is arranged to lie next to the body of the wearer inside of the garment. The band 14; being sewed to thehbdy portion of the garment, as above described, has a portion 16 extending under the tront of the garment and out through in a free end 17. the inside of the garment, extending around the inside of the back of the garment to opening 13, through which it extends, ternnnating in a free end 19 where it may be secured to the end 17 by any suitable tas toning means, such as safety pins 20. Button holes or eyelets 21 are provided atthe lower part of thebody 1, through which a fastening means, such as safety pins may be passed to hold the body 1 down in proper place, the pins being secured to the diaper or pantaloons of the infant.

ln the form shown in Fig. t, the sleeves 2 are divided for their full length, as shown at 22', the edges of the opening being provided for the full length with eyes 9 and buttons 8.

To place the garment shown in Figs. 1 to 3, on the wearer the sleeves are opened and the garment slipped up over the feet and body, the arms are then put through the closed part of the sleeves and the sleeves closed by buttoning the two edges together.

It will readily be seen that with the sleeves open from the neck it will be an easy matter to put the arms of the wearer through the remaining closed portion without bending or twisting the arms as is necessary in using the ordinary garment with sleeves closed throughout their length. The band 14 is then drawn tight around the body of the wearer and the ends 17 and19 fastened together by means of the pins 20; after which the garment may be fastened to the diaper, as above described.

The garment may be removed by the reverse of the above operation or by pulling the garment over the head. Y

In the term shown in Fig. 4, the garment is pulled up over the feet of the wearer, the arms placed on the sleeves, after which the sleeves may be buttoned.

While 1' have described my invention as being particularly adapted for use as an infantfs undervest, l. do not limit my invention to that particular form, but desire to cover the features as applicable to bed gowns, hospital slips, etc.
