Description
本發明是有關於一種顯示面板,且特別是有關於一種具有主動元件的顯示面板。
在現今液晶顯示面板的畫素陣列(pixel array)結構當中,有一類被稱為半源極驅動(half source driving,HSD)架構。HSD架構藉著減半資料線的數目,以達到源極驅動器(source driver)的使用數量也可以減半之目的。因此,可大幅減少面板模組的成本。而為了更進一步減少生產成本,一種稱為三分之一源極驅動(one third source driving,OTSD)架構的畫素陣列結構被提出,此種架構可將資料線的數目減少至原本架構的三分之一,因此可節省更多的生產成本。
本發明提供一種顯示面板,在OTSD架構下利用減少的資料線空間做走線設計。以1920*1080直立式(Portrait)解析度為例,原本會有3240條資料線,採用OTSD結構後只有1080條資料線,可省下2160條資料線空間,將1920條閘極線放置於原
本資料線的位置,另外還有240(亦即2160-1920)條原本資料線所省下的空間。
本發明的顯示面板,具有一顯示區域及一週邊區域,且包括多個畫素、多個資料線及多個信號走線。這些個畫素位於顯示區域,並且以陣列排列。這些個資料線自顯示區域延伸至週邊區域以電性連接至一驅動器,且分別電性連接至多行畫素。這些信號走線自顯示區域延伸至週邊區域,且平行這些資料線。其中,這些資料線及這些信號走線分別位於兩行畫素之間,並且這些信號走線包括多個閘極信號走線,分別電性連接至對應的閘極線。
在本發明的一實施例中,每兩行畫素之間除資料線及閘極信號走線外無其他走線。
在本發明的一實施例中,這些信號走線更包括多個共通電壓走線。
在本發明的一實施例中,這些信號走線更包括多個浮接金屬走線。
在本發明的一實施例中,這些閘極線的多個奇數閘極線所電性連接的這些閘極信號走線由顯示區域的一第一側往顯示面板的中心依序配置,這些閘極線的多個偶數閘極線電性連接的這些閘極信號走線由顯示區域的一第二側往顯示面板的中心依序配置,其中第一側與第二側位於顯示區域的相對兩側。

圖1為依據本發明第一實施例的顯示面板的電路示意圖。請參照圖1,在本實施例中,顯示面板100具有顯示區域DPA及週邊區域PHA,並且顯示面板100包括多個畫素PX、多個資料線(如S1~Sn)、多個閘極線(如G1~Gm)及多個信號走線LS(如
閘極信號走線LSG1~LSGm,圖1中僅繪示LSG1~LSG4做說明),其中n及m分別為一正整數。
畫素PX位於顯示區域DPA並且以陣列排列。資料線S1~Sn自顯示區域DPA延伸至週邊區域PHA以電性連接至驅動模組20以接收資料電壓VD1~VDn,且分別電性連接至多行畫素PX(在此以3行畫素為例),其中驅動模組20可視為源極驅動器。閘極信號走線LSG1~LSGm自顯示區域DPA延伸至週邊區域PHA,且平行資料線S1~Sn,其中資料線S1~Sn及閘極信號走線LSG1~LSGm沿著第一方向D1依序排列。閘極線G1~Gm位於顯示區域DPA且垂直資料線S1~Sn,亦即閘極線G1~Gm沿著第二方向D2依序排列。
在本實施例中,資料線S2~Sn及閘極信號走線LSG1~LSGm分別位於兩行畫素之間,亦即資料線S1~Sn及閘極信號走線LSG1~LSGm之間的距離為畫素間距的整數倍。並且,在部分的兩行畫素之間的空間,可以不配置任何走線(如虛線EL所示位置),亦即每兩行畫素之間除資料線S2~Sn及閘極信號走線LSG1~LSGm外無其他走線。
在本實施例中,閘極信號走線LSG1~LSGm分別電性連接至對應的閘極線G1~Gm及驅動模組20,以傳送對應的閘極信號(如SG1~SG4)至對應的的閘極線G1~Gm。此時,相對於閘極線G1~Gm而言,驅動模組20可視為一閘極驅動器,亦即驅動模組20可視為源極驅動器及閘極驅動器的組合,藉此可減少顯示面
板100兩側的電路或配線,以達到窄邊框的效果。
在本實施例中,閘極線(如G1~Gm)的奇數閘極線(如G1、G3)所電性連接的閘極信號走線(如LSG1、LSG3)由顯示區域DPA的第一側(在此以圖示左側為例)往顯示面板100的中心依序配置,閘極線(如G1~Gm)的偶數閘極線(如G2、G4)電性連接的閘極信號走線(如LSG2、LSG4)由顯示區域的第二側(在此以圖示右側為例)往顯示面板100的中心依序配置,其中第一側與第二側係位於顯示面板100的相對兩側。
在本實施例中,各個畫素PX包括主動元件AE(在此以電晶體為例)、液晶電容CLC及儲存電容CST。主動元件AE的控制端電性連接對應的閘極線(如G1~Gm),主動元件AE的第一端直接電性連接至對應的資料線(如S1~Sn)或透過其他主動元件AE電性連接至對應的資料線(如S1~Sn)。液晶電容CLC及儲存電容CST電性連接於主動元件AE的第二端與共同電壓Vcom之間。
進一步來說,電性連接至同一資料線(如S1~Sn)的3行畫素PX(如圖示第1行至第3行)中,這些畫素PX的主動元件AE沿著垂直於資料線(如S1~Sn)的第一方向D1串接,亦即第1行的畫素PX的主動元件AE的第一端直接電性連接至對應的資料線(如S1~Sn),第2行的畫素PX的主動元件AE的第一端性連接至第1行的畫素PX的主動元件AE的第二端,第3行的畫素PX的主動元件AE的第一端性連接至第2行的畫素PX的主動
元件AE的第二端。其中,串接的主動元件AE的控制端可分別電性連接至不同且相鄰的閘極線(如G1~Gm),例如第1行的畫素PX串接上一列及上二列的畫素PX,並且串接的畫素PX可對應不同的色彩。
圖2為依據本發明第二實施例的顯示面板的電路示意圖。請參照圖1及圖2,顯示面板200大致相同於顯示面板100,其不同之處在於信號走線LS更包括多個浮接金屬走線TMF。浮接金屬走線TMF自顯示區域DPA延伸至週邊區域PHA,並且資料線S2~Sn、閘極信號走線LSG1~LSGm及浮接金屬走線TMF分別位於兩行畫素之間,其中相同或相似元件使用相同或相似標號。由於本發明實施例的浮接金屬走線TMF的位置相同於習知的資料線的位置,以致於顯示面板100的光罩可輕易修改而完成,藉此降低顯示面板100的製程調整的困難度。圖3為依據本發明第三實施例的顯示面板的電路示意圖。請參照圖1及圖3,顯示面板300大致相同於顯示面板100,其不同之處在於信號走線LS更包括多個共同電壓走線LSCM,並且資料線S2~Sn、閘極信號走線LSG1~LSGm及共同電壓走線LSCM分別位於兩行畫素之間,其中相同或相似元件使用相同或相似標號。在本實施例中,共同電壓走線LSCM接收共同電壓Vcom,用以傳送共同電壓Vcom至各個畫素PX。
圖4為依據本發明第4實施例的顯示面板的電路示意圖。請參照圖2至圖4,顯示面板400大致相同於顯示面板100,
其不同之處在於信號走線LS是包括多個閘極信號走線LSG1~LSGm、多個共同電壓走線LSCM(在此繪示1條以說明)及多個浮接金屬走線TMF(在此繪示1條以說明),並且資料線S2~Sn、閘極信號走線LSG1~LSGm、共同電壓走線LSCM及浮接金屬走線TMF分別位於兩行畫素之間,其中相同或相似元件使用相同或相似標號。
綜上所述,本發明實施例的顯示面板,其利用OTSD架構以減少所使用的資料線,並且利用減少的資料線空間配置信號走線設計,以透過信號走線LS傳送閘極信號及/或共同電壓,進而達到窄邊框的效果。並且,可使用浮接金屬線使得畫素及線路間的距離保持與傳統光罩相同,藉此可降低顯示面板的製程困難度。

Claims (8)
- 一種顯示面板,具有一顯示區域及一週邊區域,包括:多個畫素,位於該顯示區域,並且以陣列排列;多個資料線,自該顯示區域延伸至該週邊區域以電性連接至一源極驅動器,且分別電性連接至多行畫素;多個閘極線,位於該顯示區域且垂直該些資料線;以及多個信號走線,自該顯示區域延伸至該週邊區域,且平行該些資料線;其中,該些資料線及該些信號走線分別位於兩行畫素之間,並且該些信號走線包括多個閘極信號走線及多個浮接金屬線,該些閘極信號走線分別電性連接至對應的閘極線。
- 如申請專利範圍第1項所述的顯示面板,其中該些閘極線的多個奇數閘極線所電性連接的該些閘極信號走線由該顯示區域的一第一側往該顯示面板的中心依序配置,該些閘極線的多個偶數閘極線電性連接的該些閘極信號走線由該顯示區域的一第二側往該顯示面板的中心依序配置,其中該第一側與該第二側位於該顯示面板的相對兩側。
- 如申請專利範圍第1項所述的顯示面板,其中該些信號走線更包括多個共同電壓走線。
- 如申請專利範圍第1項所述的顯示面板,其中該些信號走線更包括多個浮接金屬線、多個共同電壓走線。
- 如申請專利範圍第1項所述的顯示面板,其中該些畫素的 多個主動元件沿著垂直於該些資料線的一第一方向串接以電性連接至對應的資料線。
- 如申請專利範圍第5項所述的顯示面板,其中串接的該些主動元件的控制端分別電性連接至不同的閘極線。
- 如申請專利範圍第6項所述的顯示面板,其中串接的該些主動元件的控制端電性連接至相鄰的閘極線。
- 如申請專利範圍第5項所述的顯示面板,其中串接的該些畫素對應不同的色彩。
