Abstract

A LED driving apparatus and a method thereof are described. The LED driving apparatus comprises a power supply, a plurality of LED strings, a plurality of driving circuits, a plurality of voltage detecting units, a voltage selecting unit and a voltage subtracting unit. The driving circuits respectively receive a PWM voltage signal to control the action of the LED strings and limit the current pass through the LED strings. The voltage detecting units detects every voltage between the driving circuits and the LED strings, and output the detected voltages to the voltage selecting unit. The voltage selecting unit outputs a first voltage signal to the voltage subtracting unit for producing a second voltage signal. Finally, the power supply adjusts the power provided for the LED strings according the second voltage signal provided from the voltage subtracting unit.
