本發明係部份有關造紙技術,尤係關於一般稱為造紙 5 機用布的織物,其係可供裝在造紙機上來製造紙張者。本 發明亦有關非織物的製造及例如以水纏結法所製成的產 品,尤指可於其上製造該等產品的工業用織物。又本發明 亦有關結構元件的連結,例如將該等織物之個別的紗線或 分開的各層,以聚合樹脂材料作為黏接劑,並以高度控制 10 且精確沈積的方式,而來互相接合的方法。 發明背景
於造紙製程中,一纖維素胚疋係藉沈積一纖維料漿(即 纖維素纖維的水性分散物)於一造紙機的成形部段中之移 15 動的成形織物上而來形成。大量的水分會由該料漿透過該 成形織物排出,而在該成形織物的表面上留下該纖維素胚 疋。 剛製成的纖維素胚疋會由該成形部段前進至一壓著部 段,其内包含有一系列的軋輪組。該纖維胚疋會被一壓著 20 織物所支撐,或通常係被中夾於二壓著織物之間,而來通 過該等軋輪組。在該等軋輪組中,該纖維胚疋會受到壓縮 力來將其水分榨出,並會使該胚疋中的纖維互相黏結,而 將該纖維素胚疋轉變成一紙張。排出的水分會被壓著織物 所吸收,且最理想是不會再回到該紙張内。 該紙張最後會前進至一乾燥部段,其中包含至少一组 可旋轉的乾燥筒,可藉蒸汽來由内部加熱。剛製成的紙張 會被一乾燥織物以一迂迴路徑依序繞該各轉筒來導進,該 織物會將紙張緊抵於轉筒表面上。加熱的轉筒可藉由蒸發 而使該紙張所含的水分減少至一所需程度。 應請瞭解該等成形、壓著及乾燥織物皆會在造紙機上 形成無端環圈的形式,並以輸送帶的方式來操作。又造紙 係為一以可觀速度來進行的連續製程。這即是說,該纖維 料毁會被不斷地沈積在該成形部段的成形織物上,而一剛 製成的紙張在由該乾燥部段離開後,即會被連續地捲繞在 轉軸上。 目前所用的織物係以各種類型設計來被製造,以滿足 它們所要裝設之造紙機針對所生產之紙張等級的需求。一 般而言,它們會包含一織造的或其它類型的基礎織物。而 且,若係使用於壓著部段的織物,則該壓著織物會具有一 或更多的基礎織物,其内會被針刺一層細微的非織纖毛材 料。該等基礎織物可由單纖紗、合股單纖紗、多纖紗或合 股多纖紗等所織成’且可為單層、多層、或疊層的。該等 紗線典型可由任何人造聚合樹脂來押出製成,例如聚醯胺 及聚酯樹脂等,其係為造紙機用布領域之專業人士所常使 用者。 該織造的基礎織物本身可採用許多不同的形式。例 如,其可被織成無端環帶,或先平織再以一編織接縫來接 合成無端形式。或者,它們亦可藉一習知的修正式無端織 造法來製成’其中該基礎織物的橫向邊緣會被以其機器方 向(MD)紗來製設縫合套環。在此方法卡,該等MD紗會連 續地前後織經該織物的二橫向邊緣之間,而在各邊緣處回 轉並形成一縫合套環。一以此方式製成的基礎織物當被裝 設在造紙機上時,即能被縫合成無端形式,因此被稱為可 在機上縫合的織物。為將該織物設成無端形式,其二橫向 邊緣會被拉靠在一起,而在該二邊緣上的縫合套環會互相 間次交疊’且一縫合銷線會被導經該等交疊套環所形成的 孔道。 又,該等基礎織物亦可將至少一織物置於另一織物所 形成的無端環圈内來層合,且若為壓著織物典型會將一短 纖毛塾藉針刺來穿過該等基礎織物以使它們互相接合。其 中之一或多數的織造基礎織物係可為前述之能在機上縫合 者。這是目前公知的一種具有多數基礎支撐結構的層合壓 著織物。惟無論该織物係呈無端環圈的形式,或可被縫合 成該形式,皆會具有一縱向環繞所測得的特定長度,及一 橫向通過來測得的特定寬度。亦曾見有各種材料的“次組合 物”’該等材料嗣會被螺捲或疊合成平行條帶來形成壓著織 物的基材,該等次組合物係被以包括層合等之技術來製成。 現將述及工業處理帶,層合結構物已習見於紡織工業 中。層合技術亦被用來製造造紙機中所使用的滚輪套帶。 —習知的帶係僅由作為基材的非織纖維材料所構成。先前 亦冒見有供作為壓著織物的層合非織物,其各層乃具有不 同特性譬如疏水性等,並有多數的押出片來作為該帶的支 1328628 撐結構。另一習知專利曾揭示各種材料的螺捲條帶,可供 製成一帶的支撐結構。該習知技術亦揭示一種延伸膜的基 材,及較窄的複合“條帶”。其它的先前技術包括如下所述 者: 5 第3042568號美國專利揭示一種用來製造層合織物帶 的方法和裝置。一加熱腔室及壓力滾輪會被用來將多數段 樹脂塗覆的織物黏合成一疊合的單體帶;
第3673023號美國專利揭示一種製造供用於需要高拉 伸強度之帶的強化疊層之方法。該等帶係藉平鋪螺捲連續 10 的強化索條等而來製成,其基本上係為延伸於一枱座二側 緣之間的螺旋線等。該帶會以一平鋪在該捲繞架構上的頂 層來飾面,其嗣會被以熱壓固化而來形成一牢固的帶結構; 第4109543號美國專利揭示一複合疊層。該疊層包含一 熱炫式熱塑性材料,及一主要由短纖構成之短纖紗製成的 15 紡織織物原料。它們會被使用熱及壓力來互相結合而形成 一帶;及 第5240531號美國專利係揭示一種由一核心物及一彈 性疊層所組成的無端輸送帶。該各層會一起通過一壓著裝 置,而藉熱及壓力來接合在一起。 20 在許多情況下,包括織造的織物,螺捲一織造或針織 織物條帶所製成的織物(參見Rexfelt的第5360656號美國專 利),層合織物皆需靠某些機制來將紗線保持於定位或與該 織物接合在一起。以往典型係將短纖毛針刺穿過一多層織 物來使它們結合在一起。其它前述的方法則利用黏接或熔 8 1328628 接的技術。 本發明係提供另一種接合的方法,並能提供織物的尺 寸穩定性。 【發明内容3 5 發明概要
緣是,本發明可在使用於造紙機之成形、壓著、及乾 燥部段中的任何織物,以及用來製造非織物產品的工業織 物中找到其用途。如前所述,該等造紙機或工業織物乃包 含一基材係呈無端環圈狀。在一實施例中,有許多個別不 10 連續的聚合樹脂材料沈積物會被佈設在該織物的紗線預定 位置或交叉點處。該等沈積物會將在這些點處的紗線接合 在一起,並使該織物具有尺寸穩定性。

較佳實施例之詳細說明 如前所述,在本發明的第一實施例中,於一造紙機或 工業織物中的編織紗線等會在它們的交叉點處來互相黏 接。通常,該織物可為一覆層帶或某些其它的造紙機用布。 20 且亦可能為一稀疏組織,其中的紗線將會易於由預定位置 偏移,除非能依據本發明來互相接合,又該織物係由單纖 紗來織成。 但,更廣泛而言,該織物亦可為由任何製造造紙機用 布,及用來製造非織物產品之工業織物的各種紗線,例如 10 單纖紗、合股單纖紗、多纖紗、及合股多纖紗等,所製成 之織物的,非織的,螺旋鏈結的,MD或CD紗陣列,或針 織的織物。該等紗線可由任何一般專業人士所使用的聚合 樹脂材料來押出製成。因此,聚醯胺、聚酯、聚胺酯、芳 族聚醯胺、聚烯烴及其它族群的樹脂皆可使用。 或者’該織物亦可依共同讓渡於Rexfelt等人之第 5360656號美國專利所示之方法(其内容併此附送參考广藉 螺捲一織造、針織或其它的材料條帶來製成。故該織物可 包含一螺捲條帶,其中各螺圈會以一連續接縫來接合於下 螺圈’而使該織物沿縱長方向形成無端的。該等螺圈的 互相接合’乃可依更詳細說明於後之本發明的第二實施例 來完成。 准以上所述不應被認為是該織物所僅有的可能形式。 任何熟悉於造紙機用布及相關技術之專業人士所習用的各 種織物皆可被選擇使用。 不論該織物的形式為何,其將會被安裝在第丨圖所示的 裝置10上’而使聚合樹脂材料可依本發明的第—實施例來 沈積在其紗線互彳目交又之點處,其巾該料、線係可呈一編 織結構,或為—非織結構例如-MD或CD紗陣列。 應請瞭解該織物在被安裝於一造紙機上時,係可為無 端的或能被縫合成無端形式。因此,於第!圖中所示的織物 12應可瞭解健為該織物整财度之—小部料已。若該 織物12係為無端的,㈣最好是環繞-龍輪來裝哎,此 雖未示於圖中’但應為錢機时領域之專^ 士所孰 1328628 知。在此情況下,該裝置10會被設在該織物12位於該二滾 輪間之二上、下區段中的一者上’而最好是設在其上區段 處。惟,不論其是否為無端的,該織物12最好被設成能在 製程中具有一適當的張力程度。且,為避免弛垂,該織物 5 12在移經該裝置10時亦玎由底下以一水平支撐物來撐持。
若該織物12係為無端的,則依本發明的第一實施例來塗佈 聚合物樹脂材料之後,其亦可被反轉而使内面朝外’再來 將該聚合樹脂材料佈設於該織物12的背面上。 現請詳參第1圖,其中示出當本發明的第一實施例之方 10法被實施時,該織物12會沿朝上方向來移動通過該裝置 10,該裝置10包含一連串的數個站可供該織物12步進地通 過。 該各站係如下所述: 1.可擇的聚合物沈積站14 ; 15 2.顯像/精確聚合物沈積站24 ; 3. 可擇的定形站36 ;及
4. 可擇的研磨站44。 在第一站的選擇性聚合物沈.積站14中,有一壓電喷頭 陣列16被裝在二橫向軌條18,20上,而可沿橫交該織物12 2〇移經該裝置1〇的方向來在軌條上移位,並可沿平行於該織 物12作動的方向而在該二軌條之間移動,其可被用來在該 織物12靜止時,以重複的方式沈積一聚合樹脂材料於該織 物12上或内部,若有必要亦可提供適當的黏劑。該沈積站 14玎用來比習知技術,例如噴塗,所能達成者更為均勻地 12 1328628 將聚合樹脂材料沈積在該織物12上。但,應請瞭解,該沈 積站14會全體一致地將該樹脂材料塗敷於該織物12的紗線 上,以及各紗線之間的間隔中。此並非在所有情況下皆為 妥當的’因此該聚合物沈積站I4的使用於本發明之此實施 5 例和其它實施例中係可選擇取捨的。 但,為了完整起見’該壓電寬頭陣列16會包含至少一 個而最好是多數個可個別電腦控制的壓電噴頭,其各可如 —泉來操作而其作動構件係為一壓電元件。在一實際的例 子中,若技術上許可,則一高達256個或更多壓電喷頭的陣 1〇列將會被使用。該作動構件係為一晶體或陶瓷,其被施以 電訊號時即會物理性地變形。此變形會使該晶體或陶瓷操
的電訊號來供應所需材料液滴的方法,1係稱為“依指 15令噴滴,,法。 請再參閱第1圖,該壓電喷頭陣列16會由該織物12之一 邊緣開始,或最好是由-縱向延伸的基準線開始在該織 物12靜止時,呈縱向及橫向地移經該織物12,而將卞取入 #· 樹脂材料以額定直徑為1〇μ(微米)或更大 的極小細滴形式,來沈積於該織物12上 例如50μ或1〇〇μ 讀噴頭陣列16相 對於織物12之縱向與橫向的位移,及賴㈣料經由該陣 列16令之各壓電喷頭的喷出沈積,皆可由 噶腦來控制,若 有需要則會在該織物12的每單位面積上嘴低 月曰原料。此外,該原料的沈積並不一 ^冲―所需量的樹 疋僅擠交於織物的移 13 動方向,而亦可平行於其移動方向,或螺轉於該移動方向, 或以任何其它適當的方式來進行。 在本發明中,一壓電喷頭陣列會被用來將一聚合樹脂 材料沈積在該織物基材12的表面上或其内部,該樹脂材枓 5的選擇會受其在輸送時一即當該樹脂材料在一壓電喷頭的 嘴嘴中準備噴出沈積時一其黏度要在1〇〇 cps(厘泊)或更低 的需求所限制,俾使各壓電噴頭.能以—固定的液滴輸送率 來提供該樹脂材料。限制該樹脂材料之選擇的第二需求 係’當其呈液滴由一壓電喷頭喷向該織物12時,或被噴至 1〇邊織物12之後’即必須部份地定形’以免該樹脂材料流動, 並保持整體樹脂材料的控制,而確保其能在被喷至織物12 上的位置時保持一細滴的形式。能符合此等需求之適用的 聚合樹脂材料包括: 1·熱熔膠及水分固化的熱熔膠; 15 2·以尿烷及環氧樹脂為基礎的雙成分反應系統; 3·由尿烷、聚酯、聚醚、及矽酮等所衍生的反應性丙 辦F酸單體和兩烯酸寡聚物所組成的光聚合物成分;及 4.水性膠乳和分散物及包括丙烯酸和聚胺酯等微粒填 充的化合物》 20 應請瞭解該聚合樹脂材料在被沈積於該織物12上或其 内部之後’必須被固定。而定形或固定該樹脂材料的手段 係取決於其本身的物理及/或化學需求。光聚合物能以光來 固化’而熱熔材料可藉冷卻來定形。水性膠乳和分散物可 先被乾燥再以熱來固化,反應性系統則能藉熱來固化。因 14 冷卻、乾燥或其任何 此’該等聚合樹脂材料乃可藉固化 組合方式來定形。 該聚合樹脂材料的妥當固定需要控制其在該織物12内 的渗入程度和分佈狀態,亦即,須將該材料控制及限制在 該織物12的所需體積内。此等控制對防止該織物12表面底 下的渗潰和漫延極為重要。雜制乃可例如藉將該織物12 保持在某—溫度而來達成,該溫度會令該樹脂材料在接觸 後即會迅速地定形。該控制亦可藉使用某些材料而來達 成,其在具有一定開放度的織物上會有已知或精確限制的 固化或反應時間’因此該樹脂材料在有時間漫延超出該織 物12的所需體積外之前,即已定形固化。 °亥等噴頭沈積材料的精確度將取決於被沈積之材料的 尺寸和數量。所用之喷頭種類和所塗佈㈣的黏度亦會影 響所擇噴頭的精確度。 當每單位面積有任何所需量的聚合樹脂材料被塗佈於 k過忒織物12之二轨條18,20間的一區段後,該織物12即 會縱向地前進一等於該區段寬度的量,而如前所述的程序 會再重複來將該樹脂材料喷佈於鄰接先前已完成者之一新 區段上。以此重複方式,該整體織物12將能在每單位面積 來設具所需量的聚合樹脂材料。 該壓電噴頭陣列16可通過該織物12 一或多次來沈積所 需量的材料,以製成所需的區段。 或者,該原係由織物12的邊緣,或最好由一縱向延伸 的基準線開始的壓電噴頭陣列16,亦可相對於該等橫軌 18,20來被储在1定位置,而該織物12則由其底下移 過,並重複地在每單位面積上喷佈任何所需量的樹脂材 此積在紗線上,而遍佈於該各紗線交又點或形成凸節處, 俾使該等紗線互相黏結於它們的交叉點處。如同於前述可 擇的聚合物沈積站14中,一壓電噴頭檢查站34亦會設在橫 軌26,28的一端處,來供檢測各噴頭喷出的材料流量。在 垓處,於陣列32中的每一壓電喷頭將會被淨化及清理,而 使任何故障的喷嘴單元能自動地恢復操作。 舉例而言,第2圖係為—織物5〇表面的平面圖,其係由 縱向紗52及橫向紗54織成之一相當開放的平坦組織。凸節 56等會形成於縱向紗52由上通過橫向紗54處,以及橫向紗 54由上通過縱向紗52之處。因為各間隙%較大故考量該 組織的開孔率,將可直接想到該等縱向及橫向紗52, 54會 很容易偏離第2圖所示的理想化位置,而使該織物5〇變得有 點稀疏。 第3圖為該織物5〇表面之一平面圖乃示出在顯像/精 確聚合物沈積站24中來將樹脂材料沈積其上的方式。在各 凸節56的兩側上,聚合樹脂材料60會被沈積在該縱向紗52 或核向心54上形成該凸節56處,而使該二紗線52,54互相 點接於凸節56所代表的交叉點處。 在第三站的可擇定形站36中,二橫向軌條38,40會撐 持疋形裝置42’ #可能需要被用來定形所喷佈的樹脂材 料。該定形裝置42可為_熱源,譬如红外線、熱空氣、微 波或雷射源;冷空氣;或一紫外線或可見光源,其選擇係 取決於所用之樹脂材料的需求。 最後,第四亦即最後一站係該可擇的研磨站44,其中 有一適當的研磨物會被用來使該織物12表面上的樹脂材料 具有一致的厚度。該研磨站44可包含一具有研磨表面的滾 輪’及另一滾輪或墊背表面設在該織物12的另一面上,以 確保其研磨能形成均一的厚度。 在本發明之一變化例中,該等可擇的聚合物沈積站 14 ’顯像/精確聚合物沈積站24 ’及可擇的定形站36亦可依 —螺旋技術來處理該織物12 ’而非如上述沿橫過機器方向 來定標操作。在一螺旋技術中’該各站14 ’ 24 ’ 36皆會由 該織物12之一邊緣例如第1圖的左側邊緣開始’而來逐漸地 移動橫越該織物12,同時該織物12會以第1圖所示的方向來 移動。該各站14,24 ’ 3 6及遠織物12移動的速率係被設定 為’能使該樹脂材料以連續的方式而呈螺旋狀塗佈於該織 物12上。在此變化例中,由該二沈積站14及24所沈積的樹 脂材料,可在每次嫘旋地通過該可擇的定形裝置42底下 時,即被部份地定形或固定,並在整體織物通過該裝置10 後會完全定形。 或者,該各站14,24,36等亦可全部互相對齊來被保 持在固定位置,而令該織物12由它們底下移過,以使完成 織物所需的聚合樹脂材料能被塗佈於一環繞該織物12的縱 向條帶上。當完成該縱向條帶時,該各站14,24,36等將 會橫向移動一等於該縱向條帶寬度之量,且上述程序將會 針對鄰接於前先已完成者之另一新的縱向條帶來重複進 行。以此重複方式,該整體織物12將能依需要來完全地處 理。 又,該整體裝置亦可保持在一固定位置來處理材料。 請注意該材料並不需要為一全寬度結構物,而可為一如 Rexfelt之第5360656號美國專利(其内容併此附送參考)中所 揭不的原料條帶,其嗣會被製成一全寬度織物。在完全處 理後,忒條帶能被抽取並捲繞在一組滾輪上。此等織物原 料卷可被儲存,然後使用例如上述專利所示的技術來製成 一無端的全寬度結構。 在本發明的第二貫施例中,該裝置1〇會被用來將一螺 捲織物條㈣相鄰各螺圈互相賴㈣成_無端織物。— 使用超音波熔接裝置來執行此操作的方法曾被揭於共同讓 渡給C〇llette等人的第5713399號美國專利中,其内容併此附 〇 具言之,該第5713399號美國專利係揭露一種製造造紙 機用織物的方法,其可藉螺捲一比該織物之所需寬度更窄 的織物條帶來製成該織物,以及依據該方法所製成的造紙 機織物。該條帶包含縱向紗與橫向紗等,其具有一側緣毛 邊沿其至少一側緣延伸,該毛邊係由伸出超過該側緣之橫 向、、’乂的未党缚端所形成。當該條帶被螺捲時,一螺圈的毛 邊將會由上或由下重疊於另一相鄰的螺圈。而各相鄰螺圈 的側、,彖會互相抵靠。如此形成的連續螺旋接縫可藉超音波 熔接或黏合該等重疊的毛邊及相鄰的條帶螺圈而來封閉。 1328628 現請參閱第4圖’其中之裝置1〇係類似前於第i圖所示 者,但已被修正來供實施本發明的第二實施例,其乃添加 -第-滾輪62及-第二滾輪64,它們係互相平行並可沿箭 頭所示的方向旋轉,有-織物條帶66會由__貯料滾輪68來 , 5捲繞該二滾輪62,64而形成—連續螺卷。應可瞭解,當該 -- 第6圖為第5圖所示出之部份接縫78在完成黏接之後的 平面圖。如圖所示,第一側緣毛邊74的橫向紗8〇會被該顯 像/精確聚合物沈積站24沈積於鄰接橫向紗8〇之縱向紗82 上的聚合樹脂材料84來黏接於底下的縱向紗82。同樣地, 第二側緣毛邊76的橫向紗80會被沈積於鄰接縱向紗82之橫 15向紗80上的樹脂材料84來黏接於上方的縱向紗82。以此方 式,该螺旋連續接縫78將可藉顯像/精確聚合物沈積站以來 通過多次來沈積更多的樹脂。該等織物的整條長度可被捲 21 儲存以供後續用來造成一全寬度織物或作為一疊合物的一 層。 在本發明的第三實施例中,該裝置10會被用來將一織 物層疊合於另一層。一種可用於此目的的方法曾被揭於共 5同讓渡的第6350336號美國專利中,其内容併此附 送。更具言之,該專利案係揭露一種製造用於造紙機之壓 著織物的方法,此方法包括使用一熱激發的黏接膜來將一 條上層材料帶固接於一基礎織物。該上層材料可為一織造 物’非織物網’或一熱塑性薄片材料;惟無論為何,皆有 10該熱激發的黏接膜附設於其一面上。該條上層材料帶和該 黏接膜會一起形成一多成分條帶,其會被捲繞在基礎織物 的外表面上,且使該條帶具有黏接膜的一面呈一封閉螺卷 來貼抵該外表面,並被加熱及加壓來黏合。該多成分條帶 懸伸於基礎織物側緣的部份嗣會被修整,且一短纖毛墊會 15被針刺而穿過由該多分條帶所形成的上疊層,以使其固接 於該基礎織物。 依據本發明的第三實施例’該顯像/精確聚合物沈積站 24會被用來將熱塑性聚合樹脂材料佈設於沿該基礎織物之 一方向的紗線織經另一方向之紗線處所形成的凸節上。 20 具5之,該數位相機30會攝取該基礎織物外表面的影 像,來定位沿該基礎織物之一方向的紗線織經另一方向之 紗線處所形成的凸節位置。在其實際表面與所需外觀之間 平織來織成,惟應請瞭解發明人等並無意要使本發明的實 施僅限於此等組織。該等縱向紗92會在通過橫向紗94上方 處形成凸節96等。同樣’各橫向紗94亦會在通過縱向紗% 上方處形成凸節98等。各凸節% , 98處皆具有一熱塑性聚 10合樹脂材料的塗層1〇〇,其係由顯像/精確聚合物沈積站24 精確地佈設者。雖該各凸節96,98被示出係具有一上述的 塗層100 ’但其並不一定要如此,例如僅在某些預擇的凸節
