Abstract

A bicycle braking system, which comprises: a bicycle frame; a rear wheel suspension mechanism, which is connected to the bicycle frame; a rear wheel, which has a brake surface and comprises a rear wheel axle, in which the rear wheel axle defines an axis and the rear wheel axle is rotatably connected to the rear wheel suspension mechanism; a clamping arm, which is pivotally connected to the rear wheel suspension mechanism; a brake clamp, which is attached to the clamping arm and selectively engages with the surface of the brake; a pull link, of which a first end is pivotally connected to the clamping arm and a second end is pivotally connected to the rear wheel suspension mechanism; in which the engagement of the brake clamp and the brake surface causes the clamping arm to move pivotally, the pivotal movement of the clamping arm causes the braking power to be transferred to the rear wheel suspension mechanism in a manner countering the unweighting thereof normally resulting from the braking of the bicycle.
