Abstract
An operation unit has an element (E) which can transmit at least partially optical signals, at the under side of the element (E) are arranged at least two optical sending-/receiving units (OSE) to detect either the contacts of the upper side (O) or the approaching on the upper side (O) of the element (E). At least one switch element (SE) is arranged to the element (E), where the manipulation elements of the switch element (SE) are located in the plane of the upper side (O) of the element (E). The operation unit is used advantageously in communication devices such as telephones for the service such as connection construction, power feature control etc. and is especially economically realized.
