Abstract
It is an object of the present invention to provide an improved flat display apparatus and a method of manufacturing the same. A support substrate (1) and a sealing member (2) are bonded together through an adhesive layer (3). An internal space (4) is formed on the support substrate (1). Such internal space contains a display functional section which has an outgoing wire (5) being led out of the internal space (4) through the adhesive layer (3), thereby forming a predetermined wiring pattern on the support substrate (1). Meanwhile, the outgoing wire (5) near the adhesive layer (3) is covered by a covering layer (6), thus forming a laminated section including the adhesive layer (3) and covering layer (6). In this manner, it is possible to prevent the outgoing wire of the flat display apparatus from getting defective, which would otherwise be caused due to a corrosion or migration of the outgoing wire.
