Description

Devices are known for the hydraulic classification of particulate materials, mainly sand and gravel, including a hydraulic classifier for sand with a cone-shaped body, a slurry pipeline and discharge devices. However, the degree of separation of the source material in such devices is not great.

In order to increase the degree of separation of the source material and improve its washing, a mesh cone is mounted in the separator chamber of the classifier, the top of which is brought to the level of the slurry line, and in the lower part of it is installed a branch pipe through which a large fraction of the material is washed with a stream on the cone.

A device for the hydraulic classification of granular materials consists of a hydraulic classifier /, a slurry pipeline 2 and discharge devices 3 and 4.

The granular materials to be classified go through the slurry pipeline 2 into the separation chamber 5 and move along the inner surface of the mesh cone 6. At the same time, the coarse grains are lowered down and unloaded outside of the tray 7 through the discharge device 3. The coarse grains deposited on the cone 6 are washed the flow of clean water supplied through the pipe 8 through the pipeline 9.

Medium sized grains that have passed through the holes in the walls of the cone 6 into the outer chamber 10 are lowered down into the classification chamber and, from where, after washing with clean water flowing through conduit 12, are discharged outside through the discharge device 4.
