Description

When fastening gears machined on a shavinging machine on a mandrel with a nut with a slight deviation of the gear face from the perpendicular position relative to its axis, the mandrel bends. As a consequence, the machining accuracy of the gear decreases.

The described method of fastening freely mounted gears on a cylindrical mandrel significantly improves the accuracy of the shearing of the gears being machined by the fact that the latter is tightened on the mandrel, providing some mobility of the wheel on it in axial direction.

The drawing schematically shows the method of the described gear wheel attachment. The method of attachment described is as follows.

The gear wheel 2 is put on the mandrel / is put on the mandrel shank / the sleeve 5 is put on instead of the nut. Then the mandrel / together with the gear wheel 2 and the support sleeve 3 is clamped in the centers 4 of the shaving frame.

In the method of mounting described, the gear wheel 2 sits on the mandrel 1 freely, with a small gap between the gear wheel 2 and the supporting sleeve 3, which provides some mobility of the gear wheel on the mandrel in the axial direction.

This eliminates the possibility of bending the mandrel and significantly improves the accuracy of machining gears on the shaving machines.
