Abstract

An insert inside the valve casing comprises a tubular casing (7) enclosing a tubular flow-regulating valve cone (8) which can rotate relative to its casing and encloses a tubular temperature-regulating valve cone (17) which can be moved in an axial direction with respect to the flow-regulating valve cone. Cross-flow between the supplied hot and cold water is prevented by using the flow-regulating valve cone to block the flow of hot and cold water at a point downstream from the cone. The valve comprises a casing (1) with connections (2, 2) for hot and cold water, and manoeuverable devices (4, 5) for altering the flow and temperature of water leaving the valve outlet (3). Devices are also provided in the temperature-regulating valve cone to prevent cross-flow between the hot and cold water.
