Abstract

The tap, which in particular is for sanitary systems, has a mechanical mixer (10,11,12), which controls both the ratio of mixing of hot and cold water, and the flow distributed, and in which the hot water and cold water pipes are separated when the tap is closed. A throttle valve (19,20) is disposed upstream of the mixer on the hot water pipe, and a thermometer bulb (17) disposed downstream of the mixer is immersed in the mixed water distributed, and is connected to the throttle valve (19,20) so as to tend to close it as the temperature of the water distributed increases. The mechanical mixer can be adjusted freely, within the safety limits, but the thermometer bulb and the throttle valve prevent water mixed at an excessively high temperature from being distributed.
