Abstract

Arrangement for gas-arc welding with a current source with flat load characteristics, which comprises a three- phase transformer 1 with a primary winding 2a, 2b, 2c which can be connected to a mains network and a secondary winding 3a, 3b, 3c whose output is connected to a rectifier 7 in three-phase bridge connection, welding current conductors 10, 11 which connect the direct current outputs 8, 9 of the rectifier to a wire electrode 13 and a workpiece 14, and an inductor 15 coupled into one of the welding current conductors. A series connection of two capacitor units 16a, 16b, connected to both direct current outputs 8, 9, and whose central output 17 is connected to one of the outputs 3b of the secondary winding, increases the open circuit voltage to about double the value. <IMAGE>
