Abstract

The invention relates to a particularly economic cleaning of flat filter elements, such as cloth filters, by introducing the clean gas by means of lances into the filter element to be cleaned and shutting off the same from the clean gas space by a barrier apparatus which is actuated in particular by the clean gas itself. This principle allows cleaning of the individual filter elements in accordance with the particular deposit thickness and thus allows a reduction of compressed gas and energy to be used. Furthermore, the use of flexible cloths is no longer necessary and fine screens, perforated plates and metal fibres can be used, as a result of which the filters are also usable for hot gas filtrations.
