The cpd. of formula (I) is made of dextran molecules on which is coupled at least one anthracyclin cpd. per dextran molecule. R1, R4 = H or hydroxy R2 = H or methoxy, R3 = H or hydroxy or 4'-0-(2,6-dideoxy alpha-L-arbino-hexopyranosyl) gp. Y = H, X = C=O, Z= H. The anthracyclin cpd. is bound to the dextran at the 3-, 4- or 6-position.
