Abstract

A telescopic folding arm 12 comprises a main part 20, intended for swivel mounting on a heavy arm 11, and an extending part 21 supported so that it is telescopically displaceable on the said main part, which extending part at its outer free end is articulated to the one end of a bar 30 serving as control element therefor, the said bar being designed to achieve an automatic adjustment of the effective length of the folding arm 12, depending on the angle between the folding arm 12 and the heavy arm 11, by forcibly displacing the extending part 21 of the folding arm in relation to the main part 20 of the folding arm when the latter is swivelling in relation to the heavy arm 11. In order to permit accelerated retraction of the extending part 21 into the main part 20 when the folding arm 12 is being swung inwards from its maximum extended outer limit position, the said bar 30, at its other end, is articulated to a link 32 swivel mounted on the main part 20 of the folding arm, which link is in turn articulated to elements 31 for forcibly swivelling it in relation to the main part 20 of the folding arm when this is swivelling relative to the heavy arm 11. <IMAGE>
