Abstract

A guard means (10) for attachment to the rear part of a tractor for guarding the power take-off shaft (41) or shafts (41,42) of the tractor against unintentional touching comprises, as an integrated entity, vertical sidewalls (11a,11b) between which the power take-off shaft or shafts in use lie, and a base part (13,13') by means of which the guard means is attachable to the rear wall of the tractor frame, and an upper guard (30) disposed between the side walls (11a,11b) to guard the power take-off shaft or shafts against contacts from above. The upper guard (30) is preferably mounted by means of pivot pins (32) between the side walls (11a,11b) to be turnable about a horizontal axis and to be lockable in a lower position, which is the guarding position proper, and to be securable in a temporary upper or intermediate position which facilitates access to the tractor power take-off shaft (41). <IMAGE>
