Abstract

A seat, particularly a motor vehicle seat has an arrangement for raising and lowering the rear of the seat part of the seat. The seat part is held in its selected position by means of a locking pawl 15 which can be moved into a disengaged position by means of an angle lever 25, one arm of which is linked to the associated pawl by a pin 27 passing through a guide slot 29 and the other arm of which is directly mounted on an angled release lever 21 which is manually operated. On disengagement of the pawls the rear of the seat part can be raised by means of a torsion spring or can be lowered against the bias of the torsion spring. <IMAGE>
