Abstract

The container has an externally threaded neck 14 to which is periphically fused a closure element 18 to seal the contents in the container hermetically. The element has a frangible portion adjacent the fused periphery. A jacking ring 22 is threaded on the neck and has flexible fingers 24 engaged in a groove 26 in the closure element, so that the ring can be twisted to jack off the closure element by breaking of the frangible portion. The fingers flex into engagement with the groove on initial screwing of the ring onto the neck. A lip 30 permits resealing of the container when the jacking ring is screwed back down. The jacking ring may form a closure, Figure 8 (not shown), and be provided with a sealing ring (46). <IMAGE>
