1442510 Roller blinds BAUTEX ADOLF STOVER KG 31 July 1974 [2 Aug 1973] 33812/74 Heading A4B A roller blind driving mechanism comprises a drive wheel 14, 16 operated by a cord 52, a coupling member 12 connected integrally in rotation to the blind roller 10, the coupling member 12 having a sleeve portion 13 arranged coaxially of the wheel 14, 16 and of a brake element 18 mounted for limited rotation against the action of a spring 26 anchored to a fixed housing 42, the coupling member 12 mounted for limited rotation relative to the wheel 14, 16 against the bias of a spring 28, the sleeve portion 13 having one or more radial perforations 30 in which a wheel or ball-like locking member 20 is radially slidable, the wheel 14, 16 having radially projecting control lugs 15 biased by the spring 28 into alignment with the perforations 30, the lugs 15 holding the locking members 20 in depressions 34 disposed between radially extending stop lugs 33 on the brake element 18 to limit relative rotary displacement between the coupling member 12 and brake element 18 to that corresponding to the peripheral length of a depression 34 and thus preventing rotation of the roller, the locking effect being released by a small displacement of the control lugs 15 by operation of the cord 52 to a position out of alignment with the perforations 30 whereby the locking elements 20 are displaced radially by the stop lugs 33 into recesses 17 defined between the control lugs 15. In another embodiment Figs. 4-6, (not shown) the control lugs 15 are disposed and the stop lugs 33 inside the sleeve portion 13. In a modification the coupling member and roller are inter-connected through reduction gearing.
