Abstract

The invention concerns a lock device for filing cabinets of the type made up of trays 1 which are provided with pull-out drawers 3 and which each comprise a rectangular front frame including four frame pieces from which there extend four walls or wall-like parts, namely a bottom wall, two side walls and a top wall, one or more projections being arranged on the underside of a bottom of the pull-out drawer and having the object of locking the drawer in its inserted position in the tray as long as the bottom of the drawer bears against the lower frame piece of the front frame, and the drawer being able to be pulled out only after the front end of the drawer has been lifted a certain extent so that the said projections come free from the lower frame piece. In both the bottom wall and the top wall of the individual tray there are holes for receiving a rotary rod 27 of non-circular cross section which is common to all the trays in the cabinet and on which, if necessary, it is possible to engage a sleeve 30 which can be located in any selected tray, with a locking finger 31 which projects from the same and which can be pivoted, by turning the rod 27, between a release position outside a side wall of the drawer and a locking position in which the finger 31 is pivoted in across the upper edge of the side wall, preventing lifting of the drawer and thus also preventing the said projections from coming out of their position of engagement with the said lower frame piece. <IMAGE>
