Abstract

1,219,061. Easy opening cover for a container. CONTINENTAL CAN CO. Inc. 16 Jan., 1969 [11 March, 1968], No. 2681/69. Heading B8D. A rectangular easy opening panel 17 for a container has indentations 33 and a central depression 23 which receives the ring of a pull tab. Weakening line 21 defines the tear off panel and is spaced from a shallower line 22. A nose on the pull tab breaks the weakening line in the usual way and the tab body is secured to the panel between the depression 23 and the score line by an integral rivet 18.
