An adjustable window catch comprises a catch or stay bar 16 pivotally mounted at one end by means of a spherical member 15 in an attachment means 12 fixed to the window frame 10, and a catch fitting 25 fastened to the casement 11 and provided with a recess 28. The catch bar is provided with a plurality of retaining members 21 for latching engagement with the innermost, arcuate portion of the recess after the bar has been inserted completely into the recess and rotated through 90‹ about its longitudinal axis. The spherical member 15 has a pin 30 protruding outwardly in the axial direction of the bar which restricts the movement of the catch bar by bearing against stop members 31, 32 fitted in the bearing fitting 13 formed in the attachment means 12.
