Abstract
1,161,245. Rotary pumps. DANFOSS A/S. Sept.29, 1966 [Oct. 23, 1965], No.43638/66. Heading F1F. A hydraulic pump, preferably a gear pump 2, driven by a motor unit 1 includes in a vertical end plate 10 of the pump a suction part 12 which is in communication with a suction chamber 9 subdivided by a partition 13, having a plurality of equally spaced notches 16 around its periphery through which oil can flow, into an inner suction chamber 15 and an outer suction chamber 14. Oil supplied through a duct 7 to a reservoir 8 before entering the pump passes through a filter 4. Depending on the level of oil in the reservoir 8, the resistance to flow of the oil together with the amount of air conveyed with the liquid varies, the lower the level the higher the resistance. It is slated that liquid can never be completely sucked off to thus leave only air passing through the pump. A projection 17 on the end plate 10 engages one of the notches 16 to prevent the partition 13 rotating.
