Abstract

The curved surface of a glass or ceramic article A, Fig. 2, is decorated whilst rotating on a holder 9 by a segment-shaped imaging member 15 which passes over the article in contact with its curved surface whilst moving in a partcircular path. At the other end of this path the member is lowered into contact with an inked printing plate 21 which has an imaged area 21a of the same extent as the image receiving surface of the member 15 and the developed curved surface of the article A being decorated. The machine may be operated manually or mechanically from power driven means.
